As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of My Day...Monday October 17

1. Learned that what I learned at school was wrong! Tried to catergorize different vegetables and fruits and was shocked to find out that most of us don't even know the difference. Here's some insight....

A fruit is actually the sweet, ripened ovary or ovaries of a seed-bearing plant. A vegetable, in contrast, is an herbaceous plant cultivated for an edible part (seeds, roots, stems, leaves, bulbs, tubers, or nonsweet fruits). So, to be really nitpicky, a fruit could be a vegetable, but a vegetable could not be a fruit.

Here's some fruits that are commonly mistaken as vegetables:
tomatoes avocados
cucumbers peapods
squashes and zucchini pumpkins
green, red, and yellow peppers

2. Got told "I can't teach like you people [foreigners]". This was said by a co-worker who refused to accept scientific fact about what classifies as a fruit. Now bare in mind that this is coming from someone who's country proclaims Venus to be the brightest star.... news flash, Venus isn't a star it's a planet.
3. Wisdom John showed up with a half-cast on his arm. He says he doesn't know how he did it but now it means I have to do ALL his work in class. Great.
4. Another "Black Monday" with kindergarten Glory class. Took a total of 8 stickers from various students and they could care less. I scraped the whole lesson out of frustration and made them sit there and just color. I felt bad for Sean though cause he always tries so hard to be good for me.
5. Got asked to flex for my Hi Kids Peace class and so I jokingly flexed. They all clapped and I went beat red. Jeff was impressed and so later on in the lesson when Simon was bothering him he said, "I'll get Amy Teacher to punch you... watch out!"
6. Told Director Lee about the flex story and he called me fat. Coming from a man who's smaller than me I really don't think he is in any position to talk. Don't be a hater just cause my arms are the size of your legs. In my country I'm considered strong and beautiful but here I can see why they'd call me fat..... I don't fit in with the common super skinny look.
7. Well I finally did it.... I publicly walked around naked, mind you it was in the gym shower room. I'm definitely not a fan of public showers but here in Korea it, along with public bath houses, seem to be like a social gathering place.
8. Thought I'd simply blend in with the rest of the female bodies showering until one lady who I've only talked to ONCE noticed me and took it upon herself to scrub my body with her bath sponge! I think she thought I felt left out cause everyone else was doing it.... talk about peer pressure.
9. Left the gym confused about the whole situation. Not too sure if I was just violated or completely pampered.
10. Came home and realized that that lady at the gym took my towel... it's a conspiracy!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Why is being tickled so funny?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Don't come home married.
-- A saying my mom use to always quote me whenever I left the house.
