As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Thursday, March 1

1. Jane, the girl I had met at the hostel the night before, was cool enough to set her cell phone and wake me up in the morning. I had bought the world's cheapest watch for the alarm but I was nervous I'd sleep through it's super quiet beeping. Thanks Jane.. gotta love a girl who's named Jane... ha, ha, ha!
2. Everyone that knows me knows that I'm a LIP GLOSS JUNKY!!! Ha, ha, ha.. it's so true. Well, today I topped my collection off with a Japanese lip gloss and.... ANNA SUI lip gloss!!! I love Anna Sui's stuff, especially her lip gloss. At the ferry terminal there were some duty free shops and low and behold, there was Anna Sui stuff. I treated myself to Anna Sui perfume ("Dream") and one lip gloss. I love it!

3. Go figure, yesterday's boats were jammed with people and so I couldn't score a seat but, today's ferry, wow... the boat wasn't even close to being 1/3 full. Ended up running into Julian though and so that was cool. Apparently the day before, he rented a bicycle... cool. I'll be sure to do that next time I venture to Japan.
4. I saw a whale!!!! So cool! I only saw the tail of it but it was awesome! Julian told me to keep my eyes peeled on the water where all the seagulls were hovering over and yup, sure enough, I saw a dolphin pop out of the water.
5. Finally arrived back in Korea. Julian and I thought we'd cruise through immigrations, wrong! So wrong!!! The immigration had asked me for my alien registration card and I say I didn't have it (it was in my stolen purse.. yes, the curse of the stole purse still lives on) but then he got all suspicious of me when he found it on file in the computer. The fact that my passport number is different now, cause of it being a newly issued one, just added to the sketchiness of the situation. He ended up leaving me there and going to his superior about the situation, leaving me standing there with a whole room of people starring at me. Oh gosh. Finally, they let me in... whew!
6. After a whole day of traveling... bus, ferry, train, taxi... I finally arrived at home! I was exhausted. I walked in the door and there was Mi Nam, ever so happy I had returned.
7. Kim Tae was cool enough to help me out and take Mi Nam to the vet's without me. Mi Nam came back with more medication and the cone still on his neck... poor baby.
8. Kobe, Kobe Kobe... now do I have your attention?! Wow... hearing your voice on msn was awesome but that headset is going to kill me! Seriously. I do miss you.
9. What Kobe doesn't know is that I taped him singing to me. It was too cute to simply not record it on my camera.

10. Well, tomorrow's a big day for me. It'll be my first day at the university, cool! I'm so excited to start my new job but I know I've got big shoes to fit and there's high expectations. No worries though, I love teaching and so I'm confident in myself as a person and as a teacher... correction, PROFESSOR! Ha, ha, ha.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Can you sing for me?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
I think we are drawn to dogs because they are the uninhibited creatures we might be if we weren't certain we knew better. They fight for honor at the first challenge, make love with no moral restraint, and they do not for all their marvelous instincts appear to know about death. Being such wonderfully uncomplicated beings, they need us to do their worrying.
