As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Monday, February 19

1. I'm convinced I've got the luxurious penthouse suite here in jail cause besides Kim Tae coming to visit me and bringing me food, I haven't ventured outside and I'm feeling somewhat trapped. Ok, so it's not jail here but I definitely am feeling confined. With no money on hand and my bank card being in my stolen purse, I can't go buy food and even if I had money, most places around here are probably closed cause of the holiday. So, I've stayed inside since I got here. It's kind of a shame too cause it looks so nice outside. I'm just not motivated though to do anything. I'm struggling adjusting back to life here in Korea and for the first time in two years, I really miss Canada. I never thought I'd ever be homesick for Canada but now I am.
2. Got to chat with some friends online, mainly Kobe and Yong. I really miss Kobe and I'm totally looking forward to seeing Yong. Both guys have been amazing to me and so I know I have them to thank for keeping me grounded.
3. Well Yong, after staying awake all night, at 8am I tried what you had suggested. It didn't work! Instead of it causing me to fall asleep like I had hoped, it made me super hyper and so by 10am I was bouncing off the walls!
4. By noon I was still wired and was trying to master a choreographed dance routine I came across on the web. Wow... talk about amazing cardio...ㅋㅋㅋ Poor Mi Nam almost lost a leg while I jumped around and busted a move...ㅋㅋㅋ
5. Trouble Boy called me up today to tell me that this weekend will be his last days in Korea... oh my gosh! He and I aren't exactly good friends but we're friends. He's one of those people that randomly pops up in my life once in awhile. I guess I just assumed he'd be here as long as me. He had once talked about extending his contract with the Air Force but, obviously, he's changed his mind. I really don't know how I feel about him leaving. Hopefully though, I'll be able to post-pone my Japan trip so that I can at least go out to Songtan and spend some time with him before he leaves.
6. No sooner did I get word from Trouble Boy than I got word from this guy Darrius I know. He's also with the Air Force and as it turns out, his days are numbered too. He, Darnell and Rick will all be leaving soon. I had met Darrius through Darnell, back in the day when Darnell was my closest English friend here. I stopped hanging out with that crew though cause of the whole situation that went down with Darnell (I'll just leave it at that). Darrius and Rick email me sometimes so it's not like we're close friends. None the less though, everyone is leaving me here. Wow! Looks like Gangster-G is my only English friend left in Songtan.
7. As if my day wasn't retarded enough, drama with Kim Tae continued on and stuff really hit the fan today, wow did it ever! It reached an all-time high today and left us both in tears, more so him than me! This isn't cool. I felt super terrible having to push him away from me cause I do care a lot about him but I just can't do this. Holy intense!
8. Leave it to Mi Nam to cheer me up. As I sat there trying to deal with Kim Tae, Mi Nam was busy trying to chew on my toes and it tickled so

much. I couldn't help but bust out in a giggle. I love my little guy... Mi Nam is awesome!
9. After a heated argument we both took a breather and then came back to sit down for lunch; Korean style pizza... I love it. It was loaded with sausages, corn and sweet potato... delicious!
10. By 6pm I was so tried and so I crashed. Woke up and Kim Tae was gone. It was dark and I had no idea where I was for a moment or two.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
When will things return to normal?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity.
