As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

What a little porker. He sure has plumped up since you have left.
What you said to Kim Tae was the right thing to do. There is no sense leading him astray for him to find out down the road that you can't fully open your heart to him b/c of your plans to return to Canada. So good for you Amy!!! Just sucks that you had to do it when he planned such a great welcome back for you.
So when do you start work? Are you happy to be back in Korea?

Hey Jenn,
Thanks for the props, it means a lot.
As for work, I start on March 2nd and am eager to start! I've got my professor look down to an art and am really looking forward to seeing how teaching at the university is like. I've got some wicked new co-workers and so that's another super bonus!
And as for whether or not I'm happy I'm back in Korea... I've got mixed feelings. I really had an eye-opening trip to Canada that left me seriously thinking about things. I didn't realize how much I'd miss Canada until I ventured back and had to deal with Canada.
But Korea... wow, I know I really loved it when I was here before and so I'm sure I'll get back into that feeling but it's just hard right now considering I just came back. Korea and Canada are two different worlds and so I'm trying to adjust! I just need to give things time, that's all.
