As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Monday, June 25

1. Had an early morning tea with the Cheonan Trump. He's so funny. I made a silly joke, asking him if he had any cute guys working at his office tower and I think he took me seriously... oh gosh. Going on another blind date definitely doesn't interest me. I'm quite content with a good movie and Mi Nam on a Friday night as oppose to.... never mind.

2. Turns out the manager from the KB Bank near my house knows I know the Cheonan Trump, not too sure how he does but apparently he does cause when I went to KB Bank today he approached me and mentioned it. KB Bank downtown is notorious for it's long waits and so I had given myself a good hour to do a simple transaction. However, the manager approached me today, took my bag and then escorted me into the empty VIP lounge where he then made me coffee and called in on of the tellers to help me.... sweet!!! Now that's service... I've upgraded in status apparently. Within 5 minutes, I was done and out the door... how awesome was that?!!!

3. Headed into work today to work on my professional portfolio and to see if any last minute students would come in to discuss their mark. One of my Tuesday night students came in and we had quite a nice chat. He's a quieter student in my class but he's awesome. You know how you just simply click with some people, ya, well, that's how we are. He usually visits me once in a while to say hi and to ask for extra help.... I'm going to miss our run-ins.

4. Well, besides the one student, no other students came in to see me but I did get two phone calls, one of which was on my cellphone as oppose to the office phone and so I wasn't impressed. Only a couple of students have my number but there were reasons for them having it. This particular student who called me today, there's no way I would have agreed to her having my number. She phoned to complain why she got a "C" as oppose to a "B" when her mark is 70. Hello... a 70 is a "C".

5. Not only did this student call me on my cell phone but she then emailed me. How ironic... all semester she could careless about my class and yet there she was now, all about my class. I almost felt like knocking off a percent and giving her a "D" for the annoyance. Truth be known, her mark was 68 but I had given a couple of extra marks on participation cause near the end of the semester her attitude had seemed to changed. (I had mentioned this in an earlier post too... Eve).

6. Well I did it... I printed off the official final marks report, signed them, and then handed them over. It felt so good to be done with them!!!

7. Came home and ended up passing out cause of the temperature of my house... it's so hot in here cause I haven't figured out what's wrong with my AC yet. I know, I know, I could call in the building's repair man but one problem, we're not allowed pets and so I'd have to hide Mi Nam. I really don't want to deal with that.

8. Woke up 15 minutes late for my promise with Giggle Girl. I was so apologetic when I arrived and so she totally forgave me.... cool. Giggle Girl's mom had bought me a huge box of coffee to take home. She said she bought it because it was made in Canada and so she was convinced it was the coffee I use to drink in Canada. She was so proud of herself for buying it and so when she asked me if it was what I drank, I said yes. I'm a huge fan of Tim Horton's coffee though. Honestly, I've never even heard of the coffee she gave me but I didn't want to tell her that.

9. Am convinced Mi Nam has an oral fixation with the color brown... let's see what's brown that he's attempted to eat...

a. my shelf unit... yup, he thinks it's one large bone
b. his bone.. that's ok though
c. the hardwood floor... yup, he likes to lick it

d. my hair... I wake up to him eating it
e. his poop... yup, it's nasty but he's trying to break this gross habit
f. my stairs... he killed the first step
g. my new shoes... guess what color they are, yup... brown
h. his food... that's a given
i. my tree's trunk... he thinks its one large bone
j. my office chair seat pad... he only chews on it when I'm sitting on it

10. Headed to the gym with Hannah. I was rather uncomfortable upon arriving cause I still hadn't seen Buff Boy since my Playboy comment on Friday night. I totally tried to ignore him. I even wore a hat and wore it low but he came up to me, tipped my hat up, and said, "Amy, me no Playboy!", and then walked away. I totally went beat red. Hannah ended up explaining the whole misunderstanding to him but I was still feeling shy when I left.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Did you hear about the western baby with 25 middle names?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
You can only be young once. But you can always be immature.

Girl, get your air conditioning fixed already! I don't know how you can stand it, although truth be told, I did have to survive my first two summers in Korea without one. After I had one though, there was no going back!!!
