A little bone I have to pick with some people here.
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Awesome video Amy. I know you've emailed me a few times hinting at such issue but I didn't know you had such a concern with it. Stay strong and stay true
stay you
Amy fighting!
Did I just see little miss tough girl Amy shed a tear on the world wide web? What is this world coming too. And to think all this time we all joked about you having a cold cold cold heart. Korea must be doing something right to be able to stir up some kind of sensitive side in you.
I couldn't possibly agree with you more here amy. I have lived in korea only for short time but have been called russian. I have pale brown hair and so it's frustrating. I don't blame them. This is the country of only one kind of people. Koreans.
i really like your blog...but...i want to see more of your dog...so cute...and i have to say..this is the cutest ugly dog i have ever seen...
ouch, cutest ugly dog? haha well, down to business...i can somewhat see things from the koreans view. i dont agree with them but if a korean chick went on a public bus with me wearing clear plastic heels, i would assume prostitute. and i guess if there was a REALLY cranky old woman she might actually say something...but i wouldnt, or assume they were from a certain country. besides, my heritage is Polish and Russian...so ima kill that woman, anyway.
im taking a breaK from blogging cuz my computer is busted, and itll take a little while to fix it. right now im using my moms comp so its kind of unreliable.
much loves,
bman
That's a disadvantage of unstanding Korean. I would not have understood a word she said and I would have just ignored her. [Not that I wear bright trousers, but in such a situation]
Still, speaking Korean as you do, you should have started a tirade against her. Drop all the honorifics (and say why you are doing it) and have a go at her, she deserves it.
Were there any Koreans girls wearing anything similar or "provocative" nearby that you could have pointed out to expose her double standards?
Anyway, if you still interested in coming up to Seoul for a bloggers meet up, I've organised another one for this Sunday Aug 5th. 6pm onwards at the Wolfhoun irish pub, Itaewon.
Hey J-Boy,
Thanks sweety for the concern. I guess another pet peeve of mine is when my Korean friends tell me to go back to blonde hair. I guess they really don't know that no everyone is nice. As long as I'm in Korea, I have ABSOLUTELY NO INTENTIONS on going back to blonde.
That'd be like shooting myself in the foot... rather stupid!
Yo Anonymous #1,
Thanks... are you Korean?
Hi Reemy,
Yo dude! What's new?!
A tear?! I have NO IDEA what you're talking about!!!
Hello H.I.,
Yes, Korea definitely is the "Land of One People"! Thanks for sharing your story with me. I know, you can't really blame them but on the same note, it doesn't mean we have to accept that.
Yo Anonymous #2,
"Cutest ugly dog"... what?!
I'll be the first to admit that he's not super handsome but instead, it's his ugliness and strange face that makes him so cute. I think I understand you... hehehe.
I'll try to put more pictures of him on my page.
Yo Bman,
Plastic heels... you clearly don't know Korean fashion then... hehehe.
Hope your computer gets fixed soon cause you're kind of slacking on your homepage and comments on mine... hehehe.
How's Tia?
Hi Jon Allen,
"Trousers"... did you just say "trousers"? Hehehe... my dad uses that word. I thought he was the only one too... hehehe. Just joking with you.
I'd love to meet up with you all but I'm going to have to pass. Monday is my birthday and so on Sunday my friends were thinking of having dinner together.
Hope you all have a good time though.
Taking one with my sister..
Punch her in the Ovaries!!!
