As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Friday, September 28

1. Wow… I’ve got my morning routine down to an art! Hehehe… Total time required for me to shower, dress, and get to school with enough time to grab a morning tea = 30 minutes. Sweet!

2. I love my Friday morning class… they’re awesome. They all filed in sleepy-eyed but smiley. They’re so cute. In my this particular class, there’s about 3-4 students who regularly email me a couple of times a week. I love getting student emails cause seeing them once a week doesn’t really enable me to really know them and so getting emails from them has really helped over come this. Mind ya, those students who email me, tend to be super shy in class time.

3. After my first class, which I totally love, then came all the dance students. Last week’s class with them was brutally disappointing and so before I started anything with them today, I set the record straight. When they were all sitting I stood up and said right from the start that I will NOT tolerate rude manners and those who display such manners WILL BE counted as absent on my attendance list.

4. Huge high fives to those two dance students who made the conscious choice to turn a new leaf and try in my class. I was SO happy when the one volunteered to answer my question and so I smothered her with encouragement and smiles. The other two girls however, from last week’s naughty group of 4 girls, we just as rude as last week. That’s ok… 2 down, 2 to go.

5. Met up with Byung Hyuk after class. We sat outside the school library chatting and giggling uncontrollably. He’s hilarious. My voice has been shot all day and so he tried to convince me to use text messaging… hehehe. Byung Hyuk’s word of the day: “nipples”… this came about after he tried to tell me some barbaric story in which he called his nipples “chest peanuts”… hehehe.

6. I was on quite the time limit today cause of Seo coming in from Busan and so I raced off to training. I busted my butt TOTALLY at training and just when I thought I didn’t have an ounce of energy left or another minute to spare, Junior Mint called me into the ring. He told me I had to fight Milk Dud for 3 rounds… that’s 6 minutes, sounds easy enough, right?! Wrong. I had already just spent over an hour training. So we fought… and I have a bit of a black eye to prove it… oh gosh.

7. No sooner had I got home but then I was back out the door again… on route to go pick up Seo!!! We headed out for dinner and then after which headed over to Khan. The Khan Hyun Bin has NOTHING on my Seo! Hanna showed up 40 minutes late which is way beyond fashionably late. That was when my night started to go sour. I don't want to write about it though cause I ended up getting all upset on Friday... upset about Hanna and then upset with Seo because of Hanna... ahhhh. I think my lack of sleep, retarded training schedule and super strict diet has sent me into an emotional mindframe similar to that of a pregnant woman who's been deprived her recent craving... dang!

8. Little did we all know but while we were out and about downtown, quite the situation was occurring at Mbar. We (Hanna, Seo and I) showed up after it all had finished but from what Jae Min told me, some drunk Korean dudes decided to attack Jae Min’s sister (she’s the Mbar manager/owner). The guys were taken away by police and so when we showed up the only evidence of the fight was a cleared out bar and blood splattered on the floor…. Wow.

9. Tonight Seo and I were that couple kissing in public… turning heads in public… and causing people to say, “Oh please, get a room”… and I loved it. For once it’s nice to be that girl that I as a single girl once envied. Seo’s dangerously delicious and I’m perfectly happy letting him kiss me in public… it’s only natural, when two people really like each other, that’s bound to happen… “PDA” as I call it; public displays of affection.

10. Seo passed the test… the Mi Nam test that is… hehehe. Despite him calling Mi Nam ugly, within a couple of minutes, Mi Nam was licking Seo and all over him like white on rice… hehehe.

QUESTION OF THE DAY..
Where did your manners go?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
I have long since come to believe that people never mean half of what they say, and that it is best to disregard their talk and judge only their actions.
