As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Friday, October 26

1. I haven't quite finished week one of my new 5-meal diet and yet already my body feels different and my energy level is awesome. I still hate mornings but I wake up like a pop tart out of the toaster as supposed to it taking me 2 hours to finally come alive.

2. The inches are coming off baby... oh ya... and so, on that note, I wore my skinny pants to work and strut my stuff... hehehe.

3. Last day of midterms and so as happy as I was to see it come to an end I knew it was only the beginning for all my marking... oh gosh. I tried to convince Hanna to help with my marking. I offered her money but instead, she wanted me to help teach her things for her TOIEC test. I'll pass. The whole point of asking her was to save time. Teaching her will only take up twice the time and, as much I really do want to help her, I just don't have the time right now.

4. Walked into my first period class and was told by two of my students that they've discovered me on YouTube and have watched ALL my videos... oh gosh!!!

5. Dang dance class stressing me out. They (well, actually, 5 of them) pushed ALL my wrong buttons and so jokingly (well, not so jokingly), I told them if they don't be quiet, I'll kick them. Of course I would never kick my student but I'm convinced some of these girls have worse manners than a barn full of pigs, seriously. Every one in the staffroom knows this, I know this... and I think THEY know it too!!!
6. Turns out I was wrong... Black Skinny (Jae Myoung) didn't win his fight the other day, TODAY he had a fight. Yet another "lost in translation" situation I guess. Apparently they were just talking about this fight and bragging about his training. Anyway, I wasn't able to attend today's fight cause I had to work and so after work, I called up Hanna and we raced off to TGIF restaurant to watch the fight on TV.

7. Panty Boy Jr. (Jae Sub) fought some old dude for the championship title and Black Skinny fought this amazingly handsome Thai guy for a different championship belt.... and Hanna and I watched the whole thing go down, it was awesome. I got weird looks for taking pictures of the TV screen but I didn't care. We were cheering, clapping and hollering at the TGIF bar as my two team mates BOTH won their matches! We also cheered for the handsome card-boy too who kept on showing off his 6-pack... hehehe. It was incrediable... the fights I mean, not the 6-pack hottie. Black Skinny knocked the dude out!!! Just another reason why I love Cheonan... we have some pretty awesome boxers here, helping to put Cheonan on the map!

8. I felt so proud of my two team mates. It was so great to watch them win. It wasn't my fight but I felt like I was right there, like we ALL had won it together! I knew Junior Mint was feeling so proud at that very moment and so I felt so happy. He tries so hard to teach us all and sometimes I think he believes in us more than we believe in our own selves. There's not a day that goes by that Junior Mint doesn't tell me how proud he is of me. He really drills me in the ring and sometimes makes me do extra rounds but you know what, he knows it's for the best. Moreover, there's not a week that goes by that Junior Mint doesn't tell me he's expecting me to bring him a championship belt.

9. Later on in the evening all the guys returned from the fight in Incheon. Junior Mint called me up and told me to come out for the celebration dinner here in Cheonan. I was just about to go to the gym but I couldn't really say no to him and so off I went for dinner with my team. Some of the boxing commission men were there and, like always, Junior Mint introduced me as "the next champion"... I love that. Junior Mint is my biggest fan, for sure! He made me put on Black Skinny's championship belt. It was gold, super heavy.... and it felt SO good to wear! I did my Rockie poses, jump around a bit, and one of the guys took my picture as I gave them my meanest, boxing pose ever... hehehe.

10. After being surround by such awesome energy and a restaurant full of proud boxers, I was super pumped and so I decided to head off to Hongik, to hit the weights. I was so hyper. I ended my training session by doing about 6 rounds of shadow boxing. Every other round I used free weights and it felt awesome. No one was in the gym and so I went hardcore with it. As I went to leave, my arms throbbing and exhausted, I noticed in the corner of my eye a giggling Newbie... oh my gosh! I thought only the older woman was working tonight. Turns out Newbie was working too and had taped my WHOLE shadow boxing session on his cellphone... dang!!!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
When will it be my turn?
