1. I thought I'd brave it and drink SIX RAW EGGS... it didn't work. I got through the first egg or so and then my gag reflex started to kick in... dang! Ending up making a kimchi omelet for breakfast. It definitely wasn't one of the best things I've tasted but it wasn't so bad... it sure beat the raw eggs though!
2. Day two of midterm testing... oh joy. I love it how they all go into serious mode. I tried making jokes during the exam to relax them but, for the most part, all I got were nervous laughs in return.
3. Apparently my dad is now somewhat up to speed on emailing, or at least is progressing nicely... he sent me an email today with a forwarded message attached... wow. This is one large step for him... hehehe.
4. Caught myself chatting it up in the staff room about Mi Nam as if I was the proudest mom... hehehe. I'm convinced Mi Nam is the perfect guy for me... he eats whatever food I drop, bombards me with kisses, waits for me to come home, he doesn't hog the bed, he is always there for me, he will never love anyone more than he loves me, he doesn't talk back, he is always happy to dance with me, and he picks up things off the floor for me... hehehe. Yup, Mi Nam is pretty awesome. What more could I possibly ask for?!
5. Oh gosh... cause of my diet, I feel like I'm non-stop eating. I mean, I eat every 3 hours, 5 times a day and so I never quite get that hungry feeling any more. No sooner does my body digest the food but I then go and give it more. If only I knew before what I knew now. It would have saved me from doing all those retarded diets and skipping meals. Kind of ironic when I think of it... who knew eating more food would actually cause you to lose weight. Not eating causes your body to go into starvation mode and so then it starts storing everything you take in. I guess that explains why some of my friends can eat and eat, and not point on a pound. Unlike me, they haven't totally killed their metabolism cause they haven't set off the "starvation mode" button, or so to speak.
6. Turns out even Junior Mint knows the Khan Hyun Bin... and he wasn't afraid to voice it at the gym... oh gosh. You can imagine my embarrassment when he blurted it out to all the guys at the gym.
7. Handsome Boy was at training tonight when I got there. Actually, he was just leaving. We got chatting a bit while I was putting on my hand wraps. I asked him if he had a girlfriend and he refused to answer. It was a simple enough question and so I made it even easier for him to answer, "a. girlfriend yes, or b. girlfriend no". His answer, "c"... what?! There is no "c."
8. I'm sensing a pattern here. Told Milk Dude Handsome Boy's story and then Milk Dude blurted out, "I want solo too!" What's up with everyone lately? We've got single people wanting to be coupled up, and coupled people wanting to be single. Whatever happened to being happy with what you have and well, if you're not happy, then changing what you have?!
9. Every time I go to boxing, Junior Mint seems to give me something, tonight I realized this after he sent me home with a bag of cooked sweet potatoes (my favorite... seriously!!!) So I got thinking, what all has he given me... hmmm.... let's see, there were the boxing shoes he gave me that I TOTALLY love, sweet potatoes, milk, yogurt, various juices, kimbab, bread, kimchi, boxing glove key chains, hand wraps.... ya, a lot of stuff! He's definitely an awesome coach and not because he gives me things but because he really believes in me and really loves his job. When I got into that last scooter accident (a few months back), it was he who put medicine on my shoulder everyday, it was he who massaged it until I said it was ok, it's him who randomly texts me in the day to make sure I've eaten my meals, it's him who yells out "Amy next Korean champion" when he's drilled me like mad in the ring, and it's him who never lets me walk home after a late night of training. Usually I train till about 11pm and so he always drives me home... he's awesome!
10. Yup... I've got some pretty awesome people in my life here in Korea!!!
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Do you eat to live or live to eat?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Fighting!
-- just about every Korean... hehehe
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
