As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Sunday, November 25

1. Q and I joined up with the guys again, and some new dudes came out. We drove some 30 minutes to the base of this large mountain to play the Korean game of soccer-volleyball... ahhh... I can't remember the name of it. I had intended to join them in the fun. I was decked out in my Adidas training gear, had my Nike Shoxs on and was ready to go, but honestly, it was so funny watching them play and so I decided to sit on the sidelines, cheer, video-tape, and laugh my butt off.

2. After soccer-volleyball, we drove another 30 minutes or so to this countryside restaurant where they made me slurp down one very large raw egg. They told me that because many people have bad allergic reactions to the meal we're about to eat, I must eat the egg or risk a visit to the local hospital... yikes! So, down went the egg... nasty. No sooner had I downed the egg but they brought out this massive pot with bones sticking out of it. It was a pot of chicken soup, not like Western chicken soup though. This soup looked like they had hacked up the chicken and thrown it in while it was still kicking and screaming. It was quite delicious though... mind ya, seeing the twisted neck all curled up at the bottom was really nasty!!!

3. Later on we went bowling together. I think we did more laughing, high-fiveing, and falling than bowling. I almost peed my pants when the largest dude there (he was on my team), literally went flying when he threw the bowling ball. The heavy ball bounced... so did he! Hehehe.

4. I was the only girl playing but out of the 14 of us playing, I came in third. Q came in second and so we got labelled the "Sports Couple"... hehehe.

5. When we finally parted with the boys, stress instantly flooded my veins. I knew what was coming next... meeting Q's family. Plans had changed though and so I was now going to meet his mom and brother, not his mom and father as initially planned. Nonetheless, I was super nervous. I figured that when we parked the truck in the parking garage, I'd be able to step out and breath in the fresh crisp air before I met them... no such luck. As soon as we pulled into the garage, there was his mom. She was getting out of her car... what a coincidence!!!

6. Meeting his mother and brother consisted of exactly 47 minutes of me sitting as straight as possible, smiling at each word they said, and eating everything and anything his mom offered me. I was still full from the chicken but I didn't want to be rude and deny her generosity as she repeatedly handed me fork after fork with fruit on it. In 47 minutes, she must have fed me 2 pears, half an apple and 2 oranges... oh gosh!

7. It was quite nice meeting his family though. His mom is a pretty lady with pearls around her neck and short loose perma hair. His brother, Young Moon, is a 26-year-old gentle guy with a shy voice but a good handle on the English language. While Q and his mom talked in the kitchen, I leaned forward and told Young Moon I was so nervous. He leaned forward, gave me a smile and then said, "Me too, little."

8. On our way home, Q's phone rang non-stop. His friends were all calling, bombarding him with questions. They were as curious about my opinion of them as I was theirs. Q took it upon himself to teach me a couple of sentences, upon which he called back some of his friends and got me to tell them my sentences. I told them thank you for the great weekend, that I had a lot of fun, and I hope to see them again.

9. Finally arrived home. Q walked me to the elevator, like usual, but this time... oh gosh... we ran into Gym Sister from our boxing club. Despite my team mates not knowing about us, we've never been seen together. We weren't holding hands or anything but I know she totally sensed something. Looks like our secret is about to leak... oh gosh.

10. No sooner had Q and I parted, but I missed him. I honestly missed him. I haven't missed like this for some time now actually. I raced to my window to see if I could spot his truck driving in the distance. He was still parked though. One minute late, a text message. He missed me too ;)
