As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Sunday, January 27

1. For once, not another Sunday first birthday party to attend… good. Those parties were clearly sabotaging my diet and leaving me with sneezed-on shirts from all those mini Koreans asking me to twirl them one more time… it’s never just one more time… hehehe.

2. Q and I strolled over to our favorite little bakery nestled in the middle of no-where, well, practically. Mind ya, it’s down the street from a pretty big competitor, Paris Baguette. We prefer this little bakery though. I allow myself a treat from the bakery every few days, and by treat, I mean a small freshly baked bun. Q goes for the massive bread, it's about a foot long and oozes with sugar and icing.

3. Ran the stairs in my building today on account that Junior Mint was out of town today and not able to train with me. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with that. I really don’t want to be unprepared for this upcoming fight.

4. Q informed me today that his buddies from Daejon want to come see my fight… oh gosh. Honestly, besides writing about it on my homepage, I haven’t really told many of my friends here in Korea. It’s already so hyped up as it is and so adding more people in the crowd shouting my name will just add more pressure. Q advised me keep my crowd attendance low, inviting only one or two people, but already so many people have been asking to come. Even the bank manager at KB Bank asked if he could come.

5. Am seriously thinking of boycotting the movies. Tonight we went to watch Alien vs. Predator and oh please, it can’t get any cheesier than this! I know it didn’t help the fact that I don’t really like fantasy-type movies. I like realistic drama and well, an alien strapping himself up with armor and sucking the life out of humans isn’t scary to me.

6. Got dirty looks from the girl beside me for laughing when the alien bit off the dude’s head. Winked back at her and it was safe to say that stopped her from looking at me again… hehehe.

7. I personally don’t think aliens exist but I could see how some many believe they do, after all, the galaxy is massive and us humans still haven’t fully reached the corners of it. But, having said that, I highly doubt that if aliens did exist that they’d resemble the human form. Aren’t they suppose to be smarter than us? What’s so smart about limiting yourself to only two arms and two legs. I mean, if I were an alien, I’d think being a big massive blob would be better. No limbs to break and I could change my form at any given moment. I don’t know. The whole idea of aliens looking like humans is so blah to me.

8. Had a late night picnic with Q,… in his house, hehehe. I had brought along boiled chicken and tomatoes, but we also had dried octopus, bread, and tomato juice. I stuck to the boiled chicken and tomatoes. I never thought I’d be so addicted to that dried octopus though. They sell it at the GS Store in my building and it comes in this sealed package. It’s all stringy, smells kind of funny, but has a peanut taste seasoning to it… and I love it!

9. New word: dongo. It’s a mix of two Korean words, and I should warn you, it’s a pretty immature word… hehehe. It’s a mix of the Korean word “dong”, meaning poop, and the Korean word “bongo”, meaning gas (toot). I don’t really know how Q and I got on the topic but I mentioned the English slang word “shart”, when upon hearing it, he asked me to explain what it meant and so I came up with it’s Korean equivalent slang word, “dongo”… hehehe.

10. Later in the evening, when we were studying at Q's house, Q turned to me and said, "Thank you for being my girlfriend." I really didn't know what to say in response. He then sat down beside me, told me that I am a good girl and hugged me. Now, if that doesn't already ooze with sappiness and make you go, "Ahhh...." then I don't know if you'll care to hear that he then kissed my forehead ;) Say it... He's so adorable!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Does he know how awesome he is?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.

You saw Alien vs Predator 2 as well? I wasn't all that impressed with it... I don't mind the occasional Sci-Fi, but this one was a bit too gross for me. And boring. ^^

I've had to give a few winks, a few evil looks, and had to tell people to be quiet "조용해봐"... I had someone talking behind me the whole time I watched AvP2... Told them twice to be quiet... 3rd time, I almost said shut up "덕쳐", but, when I turned around, the shut up... they could see I was pissed. Don't get me started about how many times Koreans have used their phones, sending messages, and taking calls, when I've watched a movie at the cinema! ^^
