1. Tuesdays... I love Tuesdays. I get to wake up late, start school after 11am, have two classes packed with awesome students and then I call it a day at work at 5pm, just 4 hours after I started.
2. Blushed again in class... this is the second time this particular class has sent me squirming at the front of the classroom with my face burning up... hehehe. It was over something so silly and I tried to recover by turning to write something on the board but it was too late. They saw my cheeks flush.
3. After class one of my higher level students stuck around to talk to me. This is kind of like a weekly routine now. She's a pretty gal who's English rocks. I love chats like this, when students seem so eager to share things with me. Some times, many times actually, I run into students outside of class, off campus. For the most part they try to speak English to me but sometimes we slip into Korean.
4. Was suppose to meet with the Cheonan Trump today but he canceled on me. Meeting rescheduled for Thursday. I think he's taking me out to dinner... this should be interesting.
5. Upon arriving home, I was greeted by the pastor at the neighbouring church. I walked up to my apartment building and there he was, standing beside the church with a confused look on his face. I've met him before and sometimes he says hi to me when our paths cross. And so, today I approached him to see if I could help him out. Apparently there were two cars blocking the entrance to the church parking lot. He said he was afraid to push them because of the fact that they're on a hill.
6. I pushed the car... I pushed both. Honestly, I thought it was hilarious. I've seen the parking attendants at Yawoori push cars around but I've never tried it before today. Throw in the fact that I was all decked out in my business attire and stellitto heels... I was some kind of wonder woman... hehehe.
7. Q treated me out to dinner and I scored mad compliments, kisses, and lots of googly eyes from Q for my very-spring white outfit. I hadn't the chance to change clothes and Q was lovin' it... hehehe. Now if only I could see Q in a suit. I think he'd look awesome. For the most part, Q's wardrobe consists of teddy bear t-shirts, a Snoopy shirt he can't seem to wear enough of, Adidas clothes, and soccer jerseys. He definitely is a boyish kind of man.
8. Lately my eye (skin around it) has been acting up. I drown it in lotion and cream but it just is so dry and so a wrinkle has occupied my face where it once was so smooth and young looking. Q took me to the skin specialist tonight to see about it. I knew it was cause of my boxing. I got a kind of rug-burn on my face a couple of months ago at sparring practice with Hye Min but it went away. Apparently it was just hiding.
9. And so with my prescription in hand, Q and I headed over to the pharmacist. Upon entering the pharmacy, the pharmacist clapped and told me that he knows who I am. He had read about me in the newspaper and had watched my fight on TV. I was flattered, for sure, but standing there in the pharmacy with some 10 other people or so, I felt rather shy. For the most part, people curiously looked at me but I caught a few dirty looks from two older women who clearly weren't impressed. That's ok. I've come to accept the positive with the negative remarks and looks from people. I guarantee though, it won't be me getting the dirty looks at the beach this year and I have my boxing to thank for that. See... boxing isn't so bad!
10. Q and I went to boxing together tonight and after we were suppose to study together. Well, we were together but Q wasn't exactly studying, unless that is he was studying the insides of his eye lids... hehehe. This week I haven't really been able to study a lot... haven't been able to do a lot of things actually. My emails are stacking up, quizzes sit on my desk waiting to be marked, my camcorder still needs working on, friends call to ask me why we haven't hung out lately, laundry is piling up, my Korean textbook sits waiting to be opened, and even my homepage is lagging behind. I am so busy. In terms of things to do, my first priority is work and then boxing. I haven't hit the weights in about 2 weeks cause waking up early is apparently impossible for me. I've got midterms and in-class presentations to think about and Junior Mint keeps on asking me when I want to schedule my next fight. I don't know... I don't know... I really don't know. I've been back at work already for one full month but it seriously feels like just a week. Time has been flying. I long for the day I can just do nothing.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What happened to yesterday?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.
-- Carl Sandburg
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
