1. Q has been getting quite comfortable in my apartment, coming over every day this week and then showing up today at 7am when his night shift ended. I had just woke up and so I sent him out walking with Mi Nam while I cooked breakfast and got ready for tutoring.
2. Raced off to Seoul for Korean tutoring and had the strangest encounter with some random dude sitting beside me who, at first glance, looked like he was wearing the exact outfit as me; trendy blue jeans and a black and white pin-stripped dress shirt with the collar flipped up. Apparently he noticed this and as I drifted off to sleep beside him, I awoke to sounds of a camera phone. I awoke several times to this nose but only when I finally arrived in Seoul did I clue in to the fact that it was buddy-boy beside me taking pictures of ME... strange, very strange.
3. KBS called me today, interrupting my Korean class and asking if they could meet up with me, again. "MORE filming?!" I asked... no, turns out they're having problems uploading my boxing fight coverage from my camcorder's memory card... ya, you and me both!!! Still haven't figured out that silly thing. And to think, my camcorder cost someone an arm and a leg but because it's high definition and has super hype technology, most computers can't handle the files... great.
4. Those who know me and, well those who don't really know me even, know that I am prone to this weird situations, always have been. Whether it's random people coming up and telling me strange stuff, people offering me free stuff, or whatnot, I always seem to meet a lot of "interesting" people. Do you remember me telling you about that dude who stole my cellphone, oh, almost a year ago now.... well, he STILL texts my phone... hehehe. Mind ya, I guess I am to blame for that cause occasionally I responded to his text messages... hehehe. Honestly though, I'm sure if we ran into each other again we wouldn't even recognize him. All I remember about him is his stylish hat that reminded me of Joey Jeremiah off of "Degrassi High"... hehehe.
5. I've got good news... and I've got bad news. Good news being that Mi Nam definitely has an admirer!!! The two met yesterday and then we ran into her again today. She mulls his face with kisses and is quite a pretty lady. However, there's bad news... she's got two legs... because... she's a chick, not a dog... hehehe. Mi Nam seems to playing hard to get, ignoring her and walking away... hehehe. Yesterday she saw Mi Nam and I waiting for take-out at Kimbab Chunkuk and then today, when she saw us again, she literally ran through traffic to come say hi to Mi Nam.
6. Turns out Mi Nam's ''Lovely Lady" has a toy poodle. I giggled and suggested that we should introduce our dogs to each other, despite my TOTAL lack of interest in a dog that can be barely called a dog. She didn't seem too interested, mind ya, she kind of ignored my words as she continued to rub her face on Mi Nam's back... oh gosh. She was a bit too much, to say the least... hehehe.
7. Speaking of animals, got word from my mom the other day that they've discovered that my kitty in Canada, Scrappy-Jo, is deaf!!! They noticed this after she failed to respond to my parents calling her name and to the lawn mower. Neither of them know how long she's been deaf, maybe she's been deaf since the day I adopted her... hmmm... I feel kind of sad. Maybe she's never heard my voice and all the things I've told her... hmmm.
8. Q agreed to help me mark my exams today but with ALL my light bulbs in my chandelier blown, we had limited time to do marking today. We've searched out a ladder in my building but still haven't gotten around to figuring out how the heck we're going to get it up to my floor.
9. After we finished off my marking and then recorded the marks, our productivity level for the rest of the afternoon and evening crashed and burned once our heads hit the couch. Q curled up on the couch, then I curled up beside him, and then Mi Nam curled up to me... and then it was lights out for the three of us for the next four hours.
10. By the time we woke up from our totally unexpected nap, it was too late to go to boxing and so we decided to stay in for what was left of the evening. It was kind of nice though, just the three of us.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Don't you just love lazy days like this?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Love the moment, and the energy of that moment will spread beyond all boundaries.
-- Corita Kent
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
