As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Today I was overly fascinated with the beautiful blue sky... so fresh and clean.
I love this city!!!

Highlights of my Day... Thursday, July 31

1. Quite some time ago I bought a wicked BMX bike with trick pegs on the front and back wheels and it quickly became my trademark in the Village, Bloor West Village in Toronto that is. I was the cute little Pollack with the army hat, boxing gloves slung over my shoulder, peddling my way around the village on my BMX bike. I was BMX Girl. When I arrive in Canada this past Sunday and arrived at my parents’ house, my face lit up with a huge smile when I the garage door opened up and there, hanging from the garage ceiling, was my BMX bike.

2. I remember when I bought my BMX bike. A friend suggested I got to this one guy in Toronto, “He can get you ANY bike you want!” was what my friend repeatedly told me and he was right. The dude had no BMX bikes that I liked but he told me to come back a week later. So, a week later I came back and sure enough, as promised, he had a BMX bike for me that was exactly what I was looking for. This dudes’ bike shop went from being a one-man operation to this huge thing… huge illegal thing that is. Today I saw him on the news. He got busted last week for stealing bikes. Over 2,000 stolen bikes have been recovered… I wonder what the grand tally of stolen bikes, both sold and stored, he’s up to!!! Today I ventured over to his bike shop, it was completely gutted

3. For a good chunk of the day, I spent my time walking around downtown. I had decided to lay down in the grass in a local park but no sooner did I do that but some random guy came and sat beside me. I was rather caught off guard and a bit uncomfortable cause he was some homeless man. He asked me for money and so I returned with two sandwiches and milk, and so we ate lunch together in the park.

4. Rulla, the manager at System Fitness was sweet enough to give me a free two week membership and so I’m loving being at my old gym. It takes me about 20 minutes by subway to get to my old gym but it’s totally worth it.

5. Ran into another one of my old gym buddies who thought it was funny to hit me in the chest and ask me if I forgot to pack my chest…. hehehe… very funny, not really.
6. Grocery shopping in the Village was awesome. There’s just such a crazy selection of foods. Vegan peanut butter, skim milk, weight watchers whole wheat tortilla shells… makes it so easy to get EXACTLY what you want!!!

7. Finally saw Graeme. I’m staying at his and his girlfriend’s (Madi) house but our paths just hadn’t crossed until tonight and so the three of us ended up sitting down and chatting for a couple of hours. I love friends like this, where you can step away for years and yet when you finally meet up, it feels like no time has passed.

8. Met up with Jimmy the Greek, a guy I dated for a bit during one university summer. He was downtown at the Coldplay concert and so we went out for a late night Pita. He asked me if I call him my ex. “I don’t know… is that what you think you are?” I asked. He and I only dated for a couple of months way back in 2nd or 3rd year of university but it seems like he remembers everything about what I said, what went on between us and whatnot. He joked around and asked me, “Is this like your Ex tour?”… brutal. No, this isn’t my ex tour, although, I’ll be the first to admit that I did date my fair share of dudes. Back in the day my attention span with dudes was quite short which makes me wonder, why did Jimmy the Greek and I stop dating?! And when is someone you’re dating officially become labelled a boyfriend? He’s changed a lot in the 5 years that I haven’t seen him. He’s since gone on to become a teacher and isn’t quite the player anymore. I think that’s why we stopped. I was too into my sports and school, he was too into the girls. I remember taking Italian culture class after we split and having to see him every week in class with his little “cheerleaders” who acted more like his shadow if anything.

9. Saw a dead man slumped on the street stairwell… or so Jimmy the Greek and his friend Mike are convinced of. There were about 8 people surrounding him, trying to block our sight and then an ambulance came bolting down the street.

10. Great… just great. I haven’t even been in this country a week, or in this city (Toronto) for a full two days, and already a lot has gone down. I wonder what the rest of this trip with throw my way. Jimmy the Greek is convinced that he’s going to make my trip all worth it and so next week he’s taking me to Paramount Canada’s Wonderland… awesome!!!

What happens at the Croc., stays at the Croc.... hehehe.
No, it's all good... good music, good memories, good people, and amazing friends.

Highlights of my Day... Wednesday, July 30

1. Finally got out to Toronto and it felt so good to hit the streets, hear the sounds of the city, feel the city life, and see more than one person on the street. I love Toronto!!!

2. My parents and I drove me out to go pick up the key to where I will be staying for the next week. I’ll be staying at a friend’s place and so I rushed off to her office and got the key.

3. First stop, step into a La Senza shop again and get measured… oh my gosh! I seriously could have cried when the girl measured me and not because of where her hands went but because of what size she said I was. I take it the sisters didn’t like my ratty clothing and being ignored for so long cause apparently they have decided to go elsewhere. A year and a half ago I was a 34D, now I am a 34B… B as in “baby bumps”!!!

4. Ended up having to buy a light jacket today. Korea is so much hotter than Canada and so walking outside today in a tank top left me with goose bumps and chicken skin.

5. Worked out at my old gym today, System, and so that was awesome. Old Gal Rulla is still managing it but her partner in crime, Doug, has gone on to start his own gym and is apparently now training an ultimate fighter, cool. Didn’t think I’d run into anyone I knew and so I plugged in my iPod, cranked up the tunes and started pumping the iron. No sooner had I started though but someone threw their towel at me. I turned around and there stood one of my buddies. Ended up running into 7 of my buddies, the REAL Big Boy Crew members from back in the day. Among them was my a good friend of mine Andy, a Pollack who I once snuck into his apartment building and stuffed my bikini bottoms in his mail slot to prove a point… hehehe.

6. I could have stayed at the gym all night with my buddies, reminiscing and catching up, but I had plans to meet up with my buddy, Italiano. Italiano my partner in crime, my trouble maker friend who when we’re out, we’re always up to no good. I love it how he still calls me “Blondie” even though I haven’t sported the platinum blond hair for quite some time now.

7. Scored a huge discount on protein shake tonight when I approached the cash and there stood a Korean woman behind the cash, curiously looking at my Korean name necklace. “That’s a Korean name” she commented. “I know. It is my Korean name. My student bought me this necklace” I responded back in Korean and on that note, she clapped her hands, gave me a huge smile, followed by a huge discount and a “You come again!”

8. Headed downtown for 911 Wednesdays at the Croc and it got packed, I mean PACKED!!! Had a good laugh at the fact that out of all the people who could have talked to me, it seemed like only the Asian men approached me… hehehe. Motto for the night: Once you go Asian, you never go Caucasian.

9. Italiano is an awesome dude and well, whenever we’re together we seem to bring out the mischievous child in each other. He told everyone he was my body guard, upon which some random dude jumped in and claimed the same title, while I danced on my claimed floor tile… hehehe. Despite the overly jealous girl friend who’s evil stare could have burned a hole in my forehead when her Chinese male friend bombarded me with questions, it felt so good to get out and just let loose.

10. After an overly fun night out with the Italiano, we decided to walk a couple of blocks to get some late night Chinese food. By then my feet were killing me. My shoes looked hot but my toes were screaming “help me!!!” and so I walked barefoot down Queen Street. With tummies full of Chinese chicken and veggies, Italiano drove me home in sweet old skool Porshe and we promised to meet up this Friday to go shoe shopping for him. Ahhh… I miss my friends in Toronto!!!

While sitting in the car, I spotted this gas-guzzling beast in W-Town... awesome!

Highlights of my Day... Tuesday, July 29

1. Like they say, when in Rome, do like the Romans (or something like that). So, being still out in W-Town with my parents, I did like the W-towners… lounged around in the backyard. This town is too quiet for me.

2. Did some much anticipated shopping… cool… and my eyes lit up like a Christmas tree at the “buy 1 get 2 free sale” sign at one of the shoe stores. Now how could I possibly ignore that?!! Like seriously people, we’re talking about calf crunching, toe straining, higher than high juicy high heels that I’m sure will leave me with blisters but ohhhhhhh do they look so good! I bought a pair of black open toe heeled sandals, and than pointing toe heels in white and hot pink. Sweet!

3. I had waited over a year and a half to be able to step into La Senza to do some bra shopping and upon stepping foot into their store, I totally cracked under pressure. My mom tried to encourage me to go back, get sized and then pick out some stuff but I just couldn’t bring myself to let some woman measure me. The thought of some random stranger putting their hands near my “sisters” freaked me out and so I went home empty handed.

4. Headed back over to that gym I trained at yesterday and low and behold but who should be there but the dude who asked me out to the movies yesterday. “I thought you said you wouldn’t be coming here till 5 cause of work” I commented to him. “I thought you’d be here at 2pm. It’s now 3” he responded. Turns out buddy-boy changed his plans so that we’d coincidentally, well not so coincidentally that is, run into each other again. “I’m persistent, you know” he added. “Ya, I see. So are stalkers!”

5. Yesterday I had spotted a heavy bag in the gym and so today I brought along my hand wraps and pounded away at the bag. Ahhhh... I miss my boxing club and team mates!!!

6. My evening pretty much consisted of me phoning non-stop to LG about my roaming phone, which I should mention here is a piece of junk, seriously. Calling my friends in Toronto adds local charges to my bills but it’s long distance for them, I can understand that point but what I don’t understand is the text messaging. I’m able to get text messages from Korea and Canada but aren’t able to text back like they said I could. And so today I spent way too much time dealing with LG and their silly manager with his no-answers and “I’ll call you back” but didn’t.

7. Note to self: switch phone servers when I get back to Korea!!!

8. Note to friends: LG is bunk!

9. Note to LG: I got news for you, I'm Polish and we're as stubborn as they get so this ain't over!!!

10. The rest of the evening was spent pretty much like my morning, lounging around the house. I did however sit down and watch some English-speaking TV shows, that was great. My parents don’t have cable and so the channels are limited. I don’t have cable either in Korea.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Why would you give me a phone that doesn't work?

The "other" half of my family... Mi Nam's four-legged step-siblings ;)
Scrappy-Joe is the cute sandy-brown tabby with the beautiful eyes, Samantha is the jet black gal, and Oreo is the shy black and white kitty.

Highlights of my Day... Monday, July 28

1. So much for crashing and burning due to jet lag, this little Pollack (me) was up and about nice and early today. Mind ya, considering I was staying out in the sticks at my parents place, waking up early meant having an extra long day of not really much to do.

2. And so with no real plans and no real options, I did what I do best… workout. Hit the local gym hoping for a hard workout but got more than I anticipated when some random dude asked me for my number. I giggled and gave him my Korean number… hehehe.

3. Getting approached by a second dude while I was training kind of frustrated me. I take it I’ve been in Korea too long cause getting approached by random dudes made me blush and feel ultra shy. Korean guys just aren’t blunt and so forward like these Western dudes, well, at least not the ones I have encountered.

4. Hung out in the backyard for the afternoon with my cat Scrappy-Joe and my parents' cats Samantha and Oreo. Found it rather chilly though. The temperature was 26 today but that doesn’t compare to Korea’s weather. My mom found it super hot today, while I walked around with leggings and a sweater on.

5. A trip to the local grocery store was way too fascinating for me as my eyes scaled the shelves and my nose was bombarded with mounds of smells as I discovered way too many cool new things. Skippy peanut butter smooth, spray on salad dressing, brick cheese, cottage cheese, cartons of egg whites … ohhhh… I could go on and on about the food!!!

6. Realizing just how “super sized” Canada is… wow! The streets here are ultra wide, the houses are huge, even the serving sizes of food are massive, the cars and trucks are quite large,… and the people are big too. It’s funny cause I feel so tiny here now. Walking around in the stores I noticed just how over weight and just how tall most Westerners are… crazy!

7. Did the whole “parade around the neighbourhood”, and by that I meant my parents took me around to several neighbours’ houses for me to say hi. The girl next door who I use to play with now plays with her little son who’s seriously a spinning image of her, button nose and all. My high school friend across the friend married our other high school friend and her little brother isn’t so little anymore, towering above me. One of my neighbours joked, asking me when I'm going to get back on the "bandwagon" with the rest of them. Hmm... so many of my friends here have got married, popped out kids, bought cottages, and whatnot... "I bought a dog" I replied.

8. The “Witches”, as we call them.. OK, so they’re no witches. The term vampire is more appropriate here… they’re an odd couple who despite the long list of strange things this couple does, including cutting the grass with scissors, only coming out at night, and having BBQ parties in their garage, they are quite sweet. They told me to drop by again and maybe we could have coffee and ice cream. Ah ice cream. They’ve been trying to lure me into their house since I was young with ice cream but my parents always refused to let me go into their house. Hmm… I’m 27 and I’m still not allowed to go into their house. I like the Witches though. Rumors still circulate the street about them but I think it only adds character to an ultra boring neighbourhood where the usual highlights include the city repaving the street or someone painting their garage.

9. I rented a roaming phone at the Incheon airport in S.Korea before I left but ended up spending a good chunk of my evening trying to figure out the text messaging. I’ve called Q a couple of times and so hearing his voice was awesome… although I’m sure my phone bill won’t be so awesome. Ended up calling the LG roaming helpline and was told that there’s a few glitches in their system cause they just changed their roaming last week. Great. “Here’s an overly priced phone for you to use while on vacation that doesn’t work”… ya, like that makes sense. So, as it goes, my vacation has been comfortable so far minus the pain in the butt I’m experiencing thanks to LG.

10. Met up with an old high school friend of mine tonight after she got off work. We were reunited via Facebook and so had seen each other's pictures and what not but we hadn't seen each other for almost 10 years! All I can say is WOW! It's crazy how things change... how people change... how WE change. Back in high school she was a friend but not a close friend, but after sitting down with her in a coffee shop and chatting for 5 hours, I really wished we had been closer in high school. Mind ya, as they say, it's never to late to be the person you want to be. And so on that note, we chatted about a ton of things. I had brought her instant coffee from Korea and MyChew candies. Not your typical souvenir but definitely a tasty one! It was so great to meet up with her and so I look forward to seeing her again at my birthday bash.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
They're all so different now, but what about me?

Sorry for the total lack of pictures of my journey but my camera was packed away and so you're stuck with pics of me sipping Tim Horton's coffee... hehehe.
Notice me wearing my mom's thick coat. Even in summer it's cold here... hehehe!

Highlights of my Day... Sunday, July 27

1. Getting up at 3am for my 4:30am bus after a mere three hours sleep was actually easier than expected. Now saying goodbye to Mi Nam for three weeks… much, much harder than expected. No sooner had the door closed but I already missed him.

2. Q squatted down on the floor after I passed through the airport gate, watching me for as long as he could, all the while I thought in my head, “I sure hope this time will be different than last time”. Last time I went to Canada, I returned to Korea totally questioning things… everything. I don’t want that this time, I can’t have that this time. And so, having said that, this trip to Canada will give me a definite answer as to whether or not I am ready to take the next step with my relationship with Q.

3. My journey to Canada started off on a bit of a bad note but I always have great experiences with traveling cause, well, things always just seem to work out for me, always have, always will. So this bad note I mentioned, it was this dude who looked Iranian. He was arguing with a male Korean airport worker about his passport. The Korean worker didn’t speak much English and was refusing to let him on the plane and so I offered to help. I could see the Korean man was so stressed and so I tried my best to make sense and translate what he was saying to the Iranian man but gave up when I sensed myself clenching my fists and wanting to upper cut the Iranian man for his total lack of manners. Two dudes walked by us and joked, saying that he looked like a terrorist. Definitely not something to joke about and so it only made the Iranian man more mad. Finally they let him on the plane, he was escorted on, escorted off upon arrival, and the whole time I kept my eye on him.

4. Heading into Beijing, China was pretty cool. The airport was buzzing with Olympic athletic teams all dressed from head to toe in uniforms. But as for the airport its’ self, not a good experience. My four hour wait in between flights ended up turning into only an hour wait after figuring out where to go cause of their total lack of signs, having to take a train and a bus to the other terminal, and then waiting in line to use an automatic kiosk machine to check in… not fun. And to top it off, my emailed itinerary said I had to travel next to New York but the only signs I found were for Newark. I joked, saying that they spelt it wrong. Turns out my itinerary was wrong and Newark is in New Jersey… little American geography lesson for me, nice. Regardless, I give Beijing’s airport one star for it’s total lack of organization and lack of signs/directions. And to think, they’re going to be hosting the Olympics in about two weeks?! Oh gosh…

5. When traveling alone, I never fail to have a great seating partner, random guys who willingly carry my bags for me, people who offer me food (or in the case of the New Jersey airport, a magazine and a borrowed coat), and airport security who always pull me out of the lines. In New Jersey I had to take off my belt and shoes but upon taking off my belt, I realized that unless I totally wanted to moon the crowd, bending over to take off my heels… no worries… that’s why God created men… just joking. Not only did some random security guy help me take off my shoes, but he also then put them back on for me and refold the bottom of my jeans… ahhh, the power of being a female… hehehe.

6. Got pulled out of the crowd by another random security man while getting my bags. He drilled me on where I was going and where I was coming from. Asking me questions as to what my job was and so forth. Upon asking me what my job was, I told him I was a professional boxer. He responded with, “You’re not going to punch me, are you?” whereas I answered, “..professional, not amateur, but keep asking me a million questions and I might punch ya one on the house.” I was pushing my luck with that comment but he loved it… hehehe. My mom says it’s cause I’m cute that I got through customs with a over sized bags full of over-the-limit liquor, nuts, and plant seeds.

7. Finally it was time for me to board my last of the three planes. It was a smaller plane with only 76 seats. My seating partner was this super cool young grandmother of 7 grandchildren, Cool Cat, who had me giggling in no time with her “I love the Internet… I love Facebook, so cool!” stories… hehehe. We chatted the whole flight, barely stopping for breaths in between our conversations… hehehe. No sooner had our tiny plane taken off but then we hit turbulence. Our cute little plane dropped, causing my feet to rise from the floor. I instantly grabbed unto the arm rests and clinched Cool Cat’s hand. This went on for a bit, us dropping in the sky and then smoother patches of flight. Some people closed their eyes, others felt like they were going to puke, but all felt uncomfortable and stressed. I tried to make a joke to Cool Cat, to ease the tension. “Oh no!” I blurted out. “I didn’t just travel for over 20 hours to die in my last hour of flight!”

8. Then it came time for me to walk out of the airport gates and meet my parents. Instantly I spotted my dad’s Pollack head in the crowd and so I called out to him. He took my picture and then ran up to me. We hugged and then my mom came to hug me too. Feels so strange to think that it’s been so long since I last saw them.

9. My parents picking me up reminded me of when they use to pick me up from horse-riding summer camp. I’d talk non-stop and then pass out from exhaustion… from talking too much… hehehe. Same went for last night. I wanted to tell them about everything and anything. My stories were so scatter brained and random… hehehe. We headed over to Tim Horton’s for my much anticipated and much craved for coffee… and it was delicious, mind ya, after drinking Korea’s shot glass sized coffee, my small sized Timmy's was way too much coffee for me and instantly sent me into hyper mode! I wasn't feeling jetlag and hadn't slept much on the plane, but it felt weird knowing that I left Sunday morning, Korean time, and arrived Sunday night, Canadian time. I had traveled well over 24 hours and yet, cause of the time change, arrived the same day... so weird... hence the long posting today ;)

10. Walking into my house where I grew up felt great. Seeing my cat Scrappy-Joe was awesome… she remembered me!!! She’s lost a lot of weight and so with her mounds of fur she feels more like a deflated teddy bear. I figure she’s about 12 now but doesn’t have much time left, sadly enough. She’s as happy as ever but because of her crazy sneezing fits, slippers are a must now in my house and the kitchen window constantly has to be wiped cause of her oozing nose and bad drooling… hehehe.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
I am finally here, now what?

A Quick Note to you...

Hey Everyone,

As most of you know by now, tomorrow I am heading out to Canada. My original plans were to make my way up to Incheon Airport this afternoon and camp out till my morning flight, however, looks like Q bought us some 4:30am tickets... yes, 4:30am tickets is right. That''s brutally and I wonder if the sun is even up at that time, I bet not.

Anyways, this means I'll be going to bed soon. Most of today was spent packing and repacking... and then repacking again, oh, and freaking out over getting stuck outside my apartment for over an hour thanks to one of the dumbnut new Sambu security guards who, instead of helping me figure out how to open my door minus a key and dead battery on the door key pad, wanted to make cute conversation about me being on "Love in Asia".... ya, that's a long story I really don't want to get into..... so...ya. Anyways, there's really not much to write about today and I should get going to bed now.

As fo my flight, it’ll be a 3-plane, 20 hour trip that will probably leave me drained, with swollen ankles, struggling with the HUGE timezone difference, and hating peanuts... but it’ll be ALL worth it! I'm eager to hug my mom, listen to my dad's piano playing, kiss Scrappy-Joe, drink Tim Horton's coffee, go bra shopping, sleep in an actual bed, weight train at my old gym, and meet up with all my Tundra Bunny Lovies (aka my friends and friends).

Having said this though, I am sad to leave Mi Nam, my boyfriend, and my boxing team mates and coach behind in Korea. If only I could just smuggle them all in my luggage… hehehe. I wish!

Although I am on vacation, I’m hoping to keep up with my homepage, updating it when I can but pardon me if I fall back a few days or skip some days. I haven’t been in Canada for over a year and a half and so I’m sure I’ll be super busy. You’ll start noticing pictures popping up on a daily bases of Mi Nam and my house. The reason for this being that I hid numerous letters and small gifts for my boyfriend to find while I am gone. The pictures serve as a kind of visual treasure map for him... so now he better miss me... or else... hehehe. Just joke. Anyway, don’t mind the pictures.

Next year I hope to venture back to Canada in the summer but with Q. For now though, he’s back in Korea, watching over my house and hanging out with Mi Nam. I’m curious as to how that will go over… hehehe.

With bags packed and trip preparations well on their way, Mi Nam definitely knows something is up. He's been walking around with his ears down.
(Personally I didn't think it possible for his radar ears to go down... hehehe)

Highlights of my Day... Friday, July 25

1. Mi Nam is definitely overusing his “cute card” by thinking he can frequently get away with an extra explosive, nose-itching, hair-curling, tummy-turning, stinky bum… nasty!!!

2. So much still to do and so little time, so I’ll keep today’s post short. Feeling like I am writing words into thin air is no better than talking to myself… crazy.

3. Limiting my packing to one suitcase, a carry-on and a purse is like… I don’t know… telling Mi Nam he can’t toot in the house… impossible.

4. Most of my luggage consists of gifts and so I am seriously thinking of scraping the whole idea of bringing clothes and instead just buy my outfits as I need them, in Canada.

5. Spent a good chunk of my day working on a little something-something I have surprised for Q. I’ve made it so that it’d literally be impossible for him to forget about me while I am gone and not miss me…. hehehe.

6. Having KBS pay me for “Love in Asia”, cool… having to hand over a good chunk of that money to Junior Mint (coach/manager), not so cool… but expected and understood.

7. Had some down time with Mi Nam in the afternoon and so we laid on the couch together… he’s so flipping cute, seriously. I told Q tonight that while I am gone that he has to talk to Mi Nam everyday, kiss Mi Nam everyday, walk him everyday… treat him like a 5 year-old little boy. I know, I know… he’s a dog, but he’s anything but just a dog to me.

8. It was all talk tonight at boxing. Junior Mint, along with many others, eagerly asked me about my trip to Canada. Poor Q tried to train but they kept on interrupting him with questions also.

9. Scored two UP Boxing Club t-shirts for Canada…. Sweet! Club t-shirts are always so hard to get a hold of cause Junior Mint has stopped getting them printed for the club but tonight he searched the club storage and found two, cool!

10. A late night trip to the new Lotte Super (as in supermarket), revealed to me my true love for Korean food when even the strangest of kimchi and eye-bulging bloated fish looked delicious to me and I totally eyed other Korean foods… hehehe. Ah Korean food… I will miss you my delicious friend.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What has changed more, Canada or me?

Trying to teach Mi Nam to get himself a treat is cute and all but teaching him to poop and scoop would be awesome!!!

Highlights of my Day... Thursday, July 24

1. Monsoon season was in full effect today, sweeping over Korea like a mad women and dropping on us tons of water… it was just flat out retarded today. An umbrella was practically pointless as the beating rain seemed to attack us from all angles. I say attack cause, well, that’s what it felt like.

2. Q had taken the day off today and so we had one last “Us Day” before I head off to Canada this weekend.

3. The day started off around noon, with a good hearty meal at a neighbouring restaurant where I can never remember the name of the food but always remember how awesome it tastes.

4. Headed over to the bank, two banks actually, in order to change some of my Korean won into Canadian bills. At the first bank, KB, the bank teller didn’t even know what Canadian money looked like and so she looked all fascinated when she pulled a lump sum from the safe. The KB manager noticed me and so he curiously came over to talk to me, asking me if I was really leaving Korea… “No… I am coming back” I told him. The teller at the second bank only had $200 worth and was quick to thank me for coming to Korea. “No… I am coming back” I told him.

5. Packed my bags today and it was both a happy and sad event. Q summed it up with “Wow, you’re really going”.. yup, this weekend I am off to Canada. Packing the gifts that I bought for some of my “Canadian Lovelies” ended up taking up over have my suitcase, yikes!

6. Am hoping to score the “You’re cool” award at the family BBQ with a box of choco-pies I stashed in my suitcase… hehehe.

7. Next stop was the cell phone shop. Now I’ll be able to use my phone in Canada, cool. Mind ya, a one minute to Korea on my Korean cell phone will cost a little over a dollar CDN… ouch!!! Plan to only use it for text messaging though.

8. Checked out the flick “100 Feet” and liked it except for the last big scene. The movie revolved around a woman under house arrest after killing her husband who had abused her for years but no one paid attention to. The ghost of the deceased husband comes back for her and so the movie is all about her attempt to rid the house of him. I liked the idea and thought it was pretty cool, but I like the whole not-knowing, the whole mystery of a ghost and not being able to see it. Their computer-generated ghost really did nothing for me except make me say “Oh come on…”

9. It had been a super long day full of errand-running, getting soaked in the rain and doing lots of packing and repacking. By the time I returned home in the late evening I was so tired. Being tired makes me either one of two things, either zombie-like or super silly. Tonight it made me super silly and so Q tried to hush me as I loudly tried to talk like a Japanese girl. Hmm… writing it doesn’t sound so funny but last night, oh gosh, I was in tears at how Japanese I sounded… hehehe.

10. A big congratulations and a “I-told-you-so” goes out to Q tonight… hehehe. Once in awhile I make Q walk Mi Nam. He’ll be looking after Mi Nam while I am gone and so I want him to get use to him. In the morning I made Q walk Mi Nam but he returned back only to tell me that Mi Nam didn’t poop. “What?” I asked, “Mi Nam poops on command”… it’s true. So, I told Q, “If Mi Nam poops in my house today than you buddy-boy are cleaning it up!” Upon returning home tonight, there was a big poop in my front entrance, one said looking Korean man (Q), and one buckled-over laughing Pollack (me)… hehehe.

Highlights of my Day... Wednesday, July 23

1. Missed my 8:45am bus only to then miss my 9am bus and have to take the 9:10am bus. I blame it on the empty container of “Animal Pak” sitting on my kitchen counter. For those of you who don’t know Animal Pak it’s a container full of daily individually wrapped multivitamins that I’ve been taking for a good few months or so. Cause of my high protein, low carbs diet, I rarely eat things like fruit and diary products and so the vitamins and minerals my body needs and would get if I were eating them, well, it doesn’t get, hence Animal Pak. Each pack contains 11 vitamins, minerals and amino acids that my body needs. I didn’t think that taking it really made a difference until the other day when I ran out… now I am feeling it.

2. … must… buy… mooooooooooore… ANIMAL PAK!!!

3. Am fully aware that arriving in Canada empty handed, with no gifts for certain people, will only score me dirty looks from those dog-sledding, igloo-living people in the Great White North… hehehe. And so with a short gift list in hand, I did some shopping today in Seoul.

4. One gift for them, one gift for me… or so it felt. It’s just so hard to resist those sellers with their free service, huge discounts and already retarded low prices. For $30 CDN, I bought a pair of jeans, 2 tank tops and a dress…. That’s Korean shopping for ya folks!!!

5. Scored 12th most viewed today on YouTube in South Korea for my video “Because THEY asked”. Over 2,500 people viewed it in one day… yikes! With just goes to show you, my other videos that took me super long to ponder over, make, edit and then post can’t compete with showing some skin and flexing. The video had absolutely no plot line or substance except for the fact that it was meant as a flex video, and only that.

6. Nominated myself for the “You’re SO Cool” award after I knocked over my glass of water onto my laptop…

7. … not once but twice!!!

8. The honeymooners have returned and so Black Skinny came into the club today looking like a big piece of charcoal with long legs… hehehe. He brought us all rice cake, which I am truly addicted to, and so Junior Mint stuffed some of it into my bag, nice!

9. Training tonight was painful and with every giggle I gave out, it was followed by me leaning over and grabbing my side. Ohhhhhh… my kidney!!!

10. Later in the evening Q came over and asked me for my banking info. Turns out KBS wants to pay me for my appearance on “Love in Asia”…. Sweet!!!
