As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Wednesday, July 30

1. Finally got out to Toronto and it felt so good to hit the streets, hear the sounds of the city, feel the city life, and see more than one person on the street. I love Toronto!!!

2. My parents and I drove me out to go pick up the key to where I will be staying for the next week. I’ll be staying at a friend’s place and so I rushed off to her office and got the key.

3. First stop, step into a La Senza shop again and get measured… oh my gosh! I seriously could have cried when the girl measured me and not because of where her hands went but because of what size she said I was. I take it the sisters didn’t like my ratty clothing and being ignored for so long cause apparently they have decided to go elsewhere. A year and a half ago I was a 34D, now I am a 34B… B as in “baby bumps”!!!

4. Ended up having to buy a light jacket today. Korea is so much hotter than Canada and so walking outside today in a tank top left me with goose bumps and chicken skin.

5. Worked out at my old gym today, System, and so that was awesome. Old Gal Rulla is still managing it but her partner in crime, Doug, has gone on to start his own gym and is apparently now training an ultimate fighter, cool. Didn’t think I’d run into anyone I knew and so I plugged in my iPod, cranked up the tunes and started pumping the iron. No sooner had I started though but someone threw their towel at me. I turned around and there stood one of my buddies. Ended up running into 7 of my buddies, the REAL Big Boy Crew members from back in the day. Among them was my a good friend of mine Andy, a Pollack who I once snuck into his apartment building and stuffed my bikini bottoms in his mail slot to prove a point… hehehe.

6. I could have stayed at the gym all night with my buddies, reminiscing and catching up, but I had plans to meet up with my buddy, Italiano. Italiano my partner in crime, my trouble maker friend who when we’re out, we’re always up to no good. I love it how he still calls me “Blondie” even though I haven’t sported the platinum blond hair for quite some time now.

7. Scored a huge discount on protein shake tonight when I approached the cash and there stood a Korean woman behind the cash, curiously looking at my Korean name necklace. “That’s a Korean name” she commented. “I know. It is my Korean name. My student bought me this necklace” I responded back in Korean and on that note, she clapped her hands, gave me a huge smile, followed by a huge discount and a “You come again!”

8. Headed downtown for 911 Wednesdays at the Croc and it got packed, I mean PACKED!!! Had a good laugh at the fact that out of all the people who could have talked to me, it seemed like only the Asian men approached me… hehehe. Motto for the night: Once you go Asian, you never go Caucasian.

9. Italiano is an awesome dude and well, whenever we’re together we seem to bring out the mischievous child in each other. He told everyone he was my body guard, upon which some random dude jumped in and claimed the same title, while I danced on my claimed floor tile… hehehe. Despite the overly jealous girl friend who’s evil stare could have burned a hole in my forehead when her Chinese male friend bombarded me with questions, it felt so good to get out and just let loose.

10. After an overly fun night out with the Italiano, we decided to walk a couple of blocks to get some late night Chinese food. By then my feet were killing me. My shoes looked hot but my toes were screaming “help me!!!” and so I walked barefoot down Queen Street. With tummies full of Chinese chicken and veggies, Italiano drove me home in sweet old skool Porshe and we promised to meet up this Friday to go shoe shopping for him. Ahhh… I miss my friends in Toronto!!!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What's so wrong with a little fun?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
If it were better, it wouldn't be as good.
