As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Thursday, August 21

1. Q had the day off and with me still having about 2 weeks off, we decided to have an “Us Day”… a day of only him and only me, together.

2. First on the list of things to do, head out for a tummy-smiling lunch.

3. In the afternoon we caught an early movie, “The Mummy”. Yup… I won’t even bother writing the rest of the title because it was just that lame.

4. Upon both of us agreeing that the movie was a total waste of our time and didn’t help to make our afternoon enjoyable, we decided to go on a drive. Jumped in the truck and headed off with absolutely no real destination in mind.

5. Ended up at a local conservation park where we did some exploring. It was Q’s first time here but since the last time I’ve been here many things have been added and changed. They still have the wall climbing club house and so we checked that out.

6. I’ve been to this park before and I remember the last time I was here. I had come here with Drama Boy and Byung Hyuk. Drama Boy and I had a huge argument about Pretty Boy and the argument elevated to the point where he then decided to throw his cellphone into the forest. I joked with Q about it and found myself looking for the long lost cell phone but out of all honestly, I wish I was back at that night. I would have said things differently.

7. With a park surrounded by beautiful mountains and lots of fresh air, well, as fresh as Korean air will get, we decided that we’d hike up the mountain. One problem though… hot pink stiletto heels. My solution: walk up barefoot. Ya, I don’t really suggest that cause after a little over an hour of barefoot hiking, not only were my feet numb by the pain but they were kind of cut up.

8. Halfway through our walk we ran into a bit of a problem… lots and lots of mini pebbles that were too sharp and too painful for me to walk through. Q thought he’d be a hero by piggy-back riding me but he got more than he bargained for when the path of pebbles didn’t seem to end.

9. The fresh air had done us some good but when we arrived back at my house we were too tired to do anything and so we ordered in dinner… pizza!!! I haven’t had pizza for well over 2 months now and I figured with all the insane training I did during my vacation in Canada that I was well deserving of some greasy Korean pizza loaded to the max with corn, sausages, cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, and (my favourite) sweet potato.

10. By 10pm it was lights out for me. Q tried to convince me to watch some Korean horror movie on TV that proved only to be more cheesy than the pizza I had wolfed down. So while he watched the movie, I curled up on the couch and got some z’s.

QUESTION OF THE DAY..
Why do we always think of things after the fact?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions.Watch your actions; they become habits.Watch your habits; they become character.Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
