As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Saturday, September 27

1. Today was a total write-off in that I really didn’t do what I was supposed to do and I spent my morning on the roof top of my building, looking out, as if I could see Canada if I squinted hard enough, wondering what my friends are doing in Canada. Ahhh… I’m still homesick.

2. Q showed up unexpectedly at my door and that was interesting. I saw him in the door camera and so, and I know this makes me a tad bit immature, but I took off my tank top and swung open the door. Had I had more warning time that he'd be coming by, I seriously would have dropped to the floor to do some push-ups and crunches. Sounds silly, I know, but that's just the kind of girl I am. Anyway, so there I stood in full view, with my hot pink bra-top on, my Adidas pants, and “eat your heart out!” repeating in my head. “Yup, that’s right” I thought, “breaking up always does my body good… gives me time to really focus on my training”… hehehe.

3. My shocking door opening scene wasn’t too much of a shock to him, considering I spend about 90% of my time in my house wearing just that. And so, he walked in, gave me a double look and asked me what I wanted for lunch. He acted like nothing had changed, that is, until he asked me what I am doing tomorrow. “I’m going on a date” I responded. Yes that’s right buck-a-roo, tomorrow I have a date with a super intelligent, sweet guy and I’m debating whether or not I should wear my naked dress or my skinny skirt.

4. Didn’t go boxing today, in fact, I didn’t even go to weight training. I’ve been so behind in my emailing and whatnot and so I tried to attack it all today. On average I get about 15 emails a day and so it’s quite the challenge sometimes. Then there’s my homepage comments… which I TOTALLY love, thank you… but I must admit, I am brutal for responding. Tosco Reno emailed me the other day, which is awesome cause she’s such a HUGE inspiration to me with my fitness training, but I still haven’t even gotten around to emailing her back.

5. Note to friends, family, homepage commenters, and whatnot, I DO love all your emails and comments but please be patient with my responses, thanks.

6. Because of my date tomorrow with Special K, tonight I spent a good chunk of my night making my Power Point lecture file. Wow… we’re already on week five in the course. In three more weeks my students will be having midterms, which means… oh ya baby… not to get too ahead of myself, but, in another eight weeks after that I’ll be having TWO MONTHS vacation… sweet.

7. Much later in the evening, like now in the early, early Sunday morning hours, I decided to jump on uStream.TV and broadcast from my apartment. Apparently I have 40 followers of my show, 42 now, and so it was cool to chat with some of them. Boy Toy from my hometown jumped online and so did Homegirl… thanks guys! We joked about various things and I showed them my naked dress… hehehe.

8. I’m thinking about setting a set time and day for my show, “Chilling at Home”, but I’m assuming my followers are from Canada or the States and so it’s hard to pick a time. Having said that, if you’ve watched my uStream.TV or would like to, please message me either here on my homepage or email to tell me which day and time you recommend, thanks.

9. By the time I logged off uStream.TV it was in the wee, wee hours of Sunday morning and considering I had to be up around 7:30am, it left me with very little beauty sleep. I had agreed to go to one of my coworker’s church. We weren’t going to leave for church until 9am but considering I have Mi Nam, waking up late just isn’t really an option, hence why I had to wake up at 7:30am.

10. Wow… do you realize in a couple of weeks Mi Nam will be celebrating his second birthday… and here I’ve been telling everyone that he’s a baby. He’s not a baby… almost 2!!! How ironic to think that today, of all days, I think about the day and reason why I adopted Mi Nam (to get over a heart-ripping break-up) and yet here I am again, sitting with Mi Nam and going through another break-up. My first break-up was terrible… I was devastated, but getting over it showed me that yes, life does continue on and yes, the heart does heal, and yes, the heart does love again. This gives me hope and so it’s this hope that makes this break-up more of a heartache than a heartbreak.

QUESTION OF THE DAY…
Who is your sunshine?
