1. Woke up at the crack of dawn to take Mi Nam out for his usual walk. It was 7:30am, way too early to be waking up on a Sunday morning. Isn’t there some kind of law against this?!... hehehe.
2. Upon meeting up at 9am with two of my coworkers before we headed out to church, I found out that church doesn’t start until 11am and it’s in Suwon… the very city I would be returning tonight for my date.
3. Two things I’m not particularly fond of, 1. foreigners and 2. meeting crowds of new people. Recently, I agree, I’ve really secluded myself and have been keeping on a low profile. I like it though. I don’t really like meeting new people, especially when they come in crowds so when I entered the church, I instantly sought out a seat and become a shy mute.
4. The church is in an international school that the church actually runs. It’s a beautiful and massive school and the church service is ran by an American man and his wife, both of which were super sweet to me and my anti-social smiles.
5. My coworker made a spectacle when they asked if they had any new comers. I was quite fine with being overlooked but he insisted on raising my hand. After the service I tried to hide my welcome bag, hoping that if no one saw it, no one would realize I was the new girl in the crowd.
6. Coolest part of the service was the fact that after singing the song once or twice in English, they then prompt up the lyrics in Korean for us to sing. I was quite proud of being able to sing it with ease despite it being my first time to see the songs.
7. It seemed that no sooner that I arrived back in Cheonan but I was then getting ready to head back out to Suwon. I had a date… not sure if it were to be a hot date or not but nonetheless, it was a date. A date is a date. Last minute though, I decided to ditch the naked dress and make a dress out of a long sleeve pretty white shirt that I had in my closet. Added a black leather belt, some funky earrings, my long brown leather boots and off I went.
8. No hot steamy details to inform you of regarding my date. It was nice and sweet. He took me out for dinner at this restaurant where neither of us knew what to do. It was some kind of serve-yourself place but the workers caught on quick that we were new there and so they were incredibly helpful to us. Very cool.
9. Dinner was followed by coffee, green tea latte actually, and my green tea latte was followed by a walk to my bus stop. It was getting late and we both had to work early the next day. My date, Special K, was incredibly sweet to me and it was great to talk to him. He has a real attractive appeal in the way that he talks and I don’t think he even knows it. He’s got that kind of geek sex appeal to him... quite cute. When I said goodbye to him, he handed me an envelop he had been carrying around the whole evening. He said that inside it held two things, one of which was a movie he had picked that reminded him of me. As for the other thing, he said that if I couldn’t spare him 24 hours of my next weekend or wasn’t interested that I should just throw it away. I thought that was super sweet of him, even romantic actually. Despite the night being fun, I boarded the bus rather frustrated knowing that I didn’t really feel physically attracted to him. I was dreading this would happen. I don’t know what it is but most of my friends like their men tall, dark and handsome. Tall guys kind of freak me out and I much prefer a shorter pudgy dude. I guess that’s where the Oedipus complex kicks in because my father is a short man that is a tad bit pudgy with his cute Polish cheeks. But enough about that.
10. Upon arriving at home, I looked up at there sat Panty Boy Jr. on his newest fascination, a Suzuki racing bike. “Jump on girl!” he yelled at me. I shouldn’t have got on because Junior Mint would give me a serious beating if he knew but I justified that I wasn’t breaking our pinky-swear promise from the other day. I wasn’t driving, I was simply a mere rider. It had been a weird day and I needed some kind of escape. Riding on the back never felt so good and as he drove faster and faster, it seemed as though if we drove fast enough, we might just be able to escape what was burdening me.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What do you call a cyclist who doesn't wear a helmet?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly.

(P.S. my answer to that question: an organ donor)
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
