As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

FYI....

I’m up to my usual wonka ways and so I’m bailing on the International Friendship Dinner planned for tonight. Thought I’d leave a note for you guys here just in case any of you were hoping to head out to it tonight.

Why am I skipping it, you ask.

Well,… that’s just what us wonkas do.

… well, that and the fact that I really don’t care to travel over an hour out of my way to a city invested with people and traffic… people I don’t know but have to act all interested in. I don’t play the fake smile very well and I don't like crowds of strangers.

Apparently the only meal options are spaghetti or steak. I don’t care to load up on carbs and I really don’t care to spend $20 on a steak that I will probably only eat about $5 worth. Call me crazy but beyond my eggs and chicken, I love my Korean food and so spaghetti and steak act as a replant to my taste buds.

So,... I am a no-go for tonight and no, I’m not sorry. Maybe I should plan my own wonka party. Yes, I could do that. I’d cook up loads of eggs and serve my famous chicken-supreme-delight. I’d have low-fat milk, water, and, for those who want to really get down and funky at my party, I could teach them some of my retro Jackson dance moves… hehehe. But then again, being a true wonka, I might just skip my own party… hehehe.

Why am I here??? said...

hehe.....funny ;) Stick to your chicken, spending your calories and money on food that you don't even like is not good. Have fun at your wonka party (at least you've got MiNam and he's the best kinda friend you could ask for).

Are you still interested in meeting up to talk about the workout/food plan or is that a no go? I could use the support and motivation from someone that I find inspiring.

To tell you the truth, that party doesn't sound like much fun to me either. I much prefer hanging out with a few close friends. Your meet-up with that chick who is new to Korea sounded like fun, though.
