As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Here's a CRAZY thought...

I'm taking up a kind of "collection", if you may call it, of feel-good comments. So, instead all those rude, opinionated and overbearing comments people are always so quick and generous with sharing, let's share some good clean, funny, and sweet comments.
Sounds like a good idea?!
Hmm... let's see.

What positive comment can you offer?

Click on the comments tab at the bottom, leave your kind comment and please, let's be generous... tis the season.
Thank you.

Glad your date went well Amy!!!

Ever since I've been reading your blog I've been craving sweet potatoes like crazy. I can't find them where I live in India so far. Boo hoo!!!
I'll hunt them down until I find them though. I loved when my students in Korea brought me steamed sweet potatoes as opposed to apples :)
And I love love love pizza with sweet potatoes.

Anyway does this constitute as a positive comment or just mindless gibberish? Hmmmm......I'll stop now.

I like Bram's idea so here's my list.

1. You're my modern day super woman.
2. You're as stubborn as hell and you say it is because you're Polish but I think it's because you're very confident in who you are and know not to take shit from anyone.
3. The fact that your a gorgeous boxer is enough to make most men dizzy.
4. You're often mistaken for a normal girl but you are so much more than that and that's what's so awesome.
5. You keep it real.

Keep doing what you do and don't stop cause of others and their lack of drive.

No one can tell you what's best for you because no one else is you. So forget about the rest and think about the best; the best you that you could possibly be.

Why am I here??? said...

Hats off to you for your dedication and commitment to fitness. You're a real inspiration!!!

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for all the kind words and all. I wasn't looking for compliments but thank you, much appreciated. I was merely interested in what positive things people had to write .. about anything.
So often than not, people are always so quick to join the bandwagon of haters, spread their bad vibes and focus on the negative. We see this in the newspapers, on TV, and in daily conversations. Bad news seems to be more interesting than good news and that's kind of sad.
Broken mariages make for juicy staffroom talk. Killings and celebrities gone wild make the front page... and why?! Yes, they're important news but bad news sells.
I for one don't read the newspaper or follow it on the Internet. I know that makes me ignorant to many current events but I really don't care to clutter my brain with all sad stories. They don't make me happy. I know they matter but what matters more to me is my happiness. And trust me, despite not having picked up a newspaper or watched the news, if something's big, I'll hear about it.

Thanks again for all that you wrote here. It was a great change from the bashing and name calling that's present in the comments from just a couple of days ago.
