As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Wednesday, November 26

1. Thank goodness for the badai cause God knows I’m way too busy to even wipe my own…. feet… hehehe. Just joking. I am super-duper busy these days though. With the school semester coming to an end in just a few weeks, time is ticking but the work seems to piling just as fast as the time is moving.

2. Luckily for me, I’ve found myself a personal assistant. Yup, that’s right. They more or less volunteered actually and bonus for me, my assistant is a guy! A beautiful Korean guy. I have been debating for some time now on who I could employee to help me with my marking and random errands for work. Despite being able to pay him adequately, my new assistant much prefers my company and random snackies, which is perfect for me because it sure beats shilling out mad green. Tonight I paid him with the ice cream cake I have in my freezer… hehehe.

3. Many of my students come early to class or stay after lecture to chit chat with me. I guess they’re amused by my random stories, which really aren’t so random when you consider the silliness that seeps it’s way into my everyday life. Anyways, today they had a story for me. Story for today: Brittney Spear’s new song titled, “If You Seek Amy”. Never was a big fan of Brittney but I’ve ironically started to like her more since her whole lock herself in the bathroom episode. Media princess pushed past her limits by the very people that created her.

4. Returned to boxing after two days of doctors orders to stay home. I was actually ordered to refrain from doing any kind of physical labour for about a week but two days was hard enough. I am a fitness-maniac… hehehe.

5. Upon arriving at the club, I was bombarded by some of my team mates and other boxers who had all heard about my accident. Apparently Junior Mint had told a bunch of them and well, it being a closely-knit club, word flies pretty quickly.

6. Junior Mint greeted me with a huge hug and smile, along with a brutal slap to the back of the neck for not going to the cops about it, refusing to take the pain killers, and for not taking the due break from training the doctor ordered. I joked and told him, “That’s Polish style”… hehehe. Sorry Poland, but I have these Koreans now convinced that Polish people are the most stubborn people… hehehe.

7. Headed over to Gangster Oppa’s club tonight to chat with him and his buddy. Two-Cell Girl randomly invited herself into our discussion, totally disregarding the whole leaning over the table “watch yourself” situation we had last week. I guess that’s what two brain cells will get you, low manners and an even smaller memory. I’m not a big fan of girls besides the ones that sit in my classes and so some girl batting her eye lashes at me and acting all cute does nothing but annoy me. I’m down with the dudes…. Hehehe.

8. Gangster Oppa lectured me about me not letting him help me with regards to the whole bus accident. Not too sure what he means as help but I can only imagine. He complained about me not calling him anymore and not sending random texts. I argued that I don’t call anyone. Unlike most of my friends who are sure to pick up some kind of funky virus or cancer via overusing their cells, I prefer the old fashion route… face-to-face conversations. I guess that’s why I also don’t really meet up with people. Besides on my homepage and with my real friends, I rather be a woman of few words. The other day I said to much about a little side “job” I’ve started and so I really have to learn to bite my tongue and keep things on a low.

9. Being persuaded to go out for a late night dinner with Gangster Oppa didn’t work. I just wanted to go home. As a friend, I like Gangster Oppa but ever since I had that argument with Two-Cell Girl, my impression of him has changed. He told me once that he didn’t like his job and I use to think that a job is just a job, a way of making money. It’s not who you are, it’s what you do, but now I am starting to think that maybe his job is who he really is. If he wasn’t doing what he does, I really can’t imagine what other job he’d suit, and that’s sad.

10. Returning back to my safe and cozy apartment, I scooped up Mi Nam and felt incredibly happy to not be living a life similar to Gangster Oppa or Two-Cell Girl. My life is relatively simple minus…. ah… (refer to #8)… pass.
