As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Monday, December 1

1. Despite having gone to bed at 5:30am this morning, I was up and about at 7:30am. Poor Mi Nam looked way worse than me and so when I took him for his usual morning jog around the block, he walked slowly. With eyes beat red and a slow strut, I felt so bad for him. He had stayed up with me all night.

2. I’m a huge fan of coffee but I limit myself to one to two coffees a week. I usually drink one coffee at Korean tutoring and then I sometimes have one of those small restaurant machine coffees if I eat out. Mind ya, both times my coffee is drank on a full stomach. Today I had a coffee on an empty stomach and hoped it’d keep me going until class ended when I’d then be eating a late breakfast.

3. Walked into my first class with the total shakes from the coffee… hehehe.

4. Exam review week has officially started for my students and so it felt both great and sad to announce that this was my last official lecture with them for the semester.

5. Anticipated one massively long afternoon catnap that’d stretch from the end of class to evening boxing… no such luck. Junior Mint texted me during class and told me to come asap to the boxing club.

6. Arrived to boxing totally exhausted and low and behold, out of all the days we could have a visitor, today they had to come… Murphy’s Law. I mean, I very rarely stay up late. I’m usually in bed by about midnight, with the exception of one night once a week, if that.

7. Our visitor at the boxing club today was the club’s chairman. He had dropped by to see Junior Mint and he had requested to talk to me. What was suppose to be a short conversation turned into him sticking around to watch me train, which meant I totally got drilled during training and had to do extra rounds. I was already going on minus energy levels and so it was brutal. But if that wasn’t brutal enough, he lit up a smoke while watching me train. I think I inhaled about five cigarettes, but wait it gets worse, he then asked me if I wanted a beer. For whatever reason, our club fridge is always packed with random things, beer included. Junior Mint looked curiously at me for my reaction and, despite Korean’s being all about their hierarchy of manners and not wanting to insult people, I broke out into a laugh. For starters I don’t drink, but if I did I for sure wouldn’t kill my training by making myself bloated from a beer. One beer would knock me out, for sure.

8. By the time training finished, I was more than exhausted. Gangster Oppa walked in while I was taking my boxing boots off and so he joked about wanting to spar with me today. There was no way.

9. Got my exhausted Polish butt home and crashed for a few hours.

10. Red roses remind me of my stalked days and so they freak me out, I don’t like candy, and I try to stay clear away from chocolate but must admit I have a sweet tooth for white chocolate. So the usual gifts of affection that most guys lean on don't work for me, a fact that a certain someone has definitely clued into. The other day I got a special delivery, milk and apples and on the weekend I got yogurt and peanuts. Tonight 12 liters of water got delivered to me in the form of six 2 liter bottles. Is the way to my heart seriously through my stomach?! Isn’t that true for guys… does he think I’m a dude?!... hehehe.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Who is this "Author Unknown" and how can I talk to them the issue of hugs?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
A hug is a great gift - one size fits all, and it's easy to exchange.

Ok, I know romance comes in all different facets. But that is definitely romantic. Just having a guy be in tune with your likes and dislikes and then acting on it, is hot as hell!

Hey Shelley,
Ya... I guess it is. It always reminds me of my father though. He's a very practical man... hehehe.

Yo B-Man,
Oh, you're MORE than welcome. It's the least I can do for being an overly busy sister.
... definitely connected ;)
