As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Mi Nam looks somewhat relaxed here but he was SO not relaxed!!!
Thanks to Junior Mint though for being overly welcoming to Mi Nam during his visit to the boxing club.

Hey Amy,
I sent you the link for the automatic backup for your computer if you want to look into it. I sent it to your email address so I hope you got it.
Yes, I’m glad you have a love of the sport of boxing. A girl at work can’t fathom why I like to work out doing that but a lot of people think it is just punching and not the strategy behind it you know? I’m glad you do. I think of sparring as sort of a chess match just a physical one I mean.
I looked at your winter schedule and wow it is a lot more than I do. Is that picture really of your abdominals? Those are something! You are in fabulous condition.
Yes, that is exactly why Shawn uses the body shots to drop my gloves down. She’s smart and I keep them up until she gives me a couple that hurt usually rib shots. Once they’re down I admit I haven’t tucked my elbows in and that might help you’re right and I should try to bend into it rather than standing up straight which is a bad habit I have. Yeah, Shawn is a few steps up on me and knows how to get my dander up I tell you but she does tell me what my flaws are which is cool it does sort of get to me Amy. If she’s gotten me with a lot of jabs to the head I tend to get a bit wobbly but haven’t been down yet thank goodness. Once in one practice I continually came toward her and she kept getting me with that left jab of hers and I was so mad!! Not at her but myself. I’ll never forget that but hey I guess that’s part of learning.
I worked out yesterday on technique etc. but no sparring because Shawn couldn’t practice but we will tomorrow so wish me luck. It’s always fun no matter what. I like the challenge.
Hey, maybe I could borrow your boots for boxing huh? Heh heh. They would look great.

Hey Beth,
Link?!... I don't think I got it. Where did you send it to? Hmmm....
Many people can't understand boxers, not just female boxers. I'm use to it now. They simply don't appreciate the hard work, training and dedication that goes into it like so many other sports. It's SO not just fighting, as you already know.
Keep up the hard work and the hard sparring.
Oh and by the way, no, that wasn't a picture of my abs the other day... they were on of another buff babe... whom of which I am totally jealous and envious of because of them!!!
