As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Hey Amy,
I can sympathize with your injury to your foot. That would slow anyone down. You seemed to move pretty well in the clip and I like the one-two jabs you were practicing. One thing I lack in the ring is being fast on my feet. I’ve been sparring more with Kim and not only to avenge the knockout but with the attitude that by boxing her I learn more too although as she points out and Shawn that speed cant be learned. Maybe I’m wrong but culturally they have the advantage with speed. It’s not a question of avenging the loss but just sort of returning the favor you know? Kim has an excellent one-two jab. The second one you don’t even see. :)

Hey Beth,
Ya, footing is SUPER important. Sometimes when I'm nervous or too hyper, my footing is so off and so it totally throws me off. It's like I'm fighting with two new legs or something.
Maybe speed can't be learned but it can be improved upon with hard training. Practice makes everything and ANYTHING better. Don't let her discourage you.
