As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Sunday, May 31

1. I LOVE THE ZOO and so waking up today to get ready for our day trip out to the Seoul Children’s Grand Park sent me instantly into overly hyper mode. I was like a kid who had way too much candy to eat. Snickers slept on the long bus ride out but I was all jittery in my seat.

2. People throwing food at animals aren’t cool… a HUGE boo to them. The monkeys ended up getting into a fight over some potato chips and I seriously wanted to give those people a good “one-two”, as in two punches. “Don’t need a one-two, Amy, just a one… one hook!” Snickers told me.

3. Props to my man for continually being the awesomeness that he is. Two times he offered to help carry carriages down the subway steps, he held my hand, opened the doors for me, carried my purse, and must have told me a million-zillion-trillion times that he loves me. I love that dude to pieces… hahaha.

4. Snickers isn’t a big fan of the monkeys but when I spotted them in the zoo I let go of his hand and ran to their cages. I love the monkeys. I thought everyone loved monkeys. Snickers is all about the lions and tigers, he’s such a true Leo like that.

5. Honestly, we didn’t take many pictures of the animals. We were more into each other than that was going around us… hahaha.

6. Seoul Children’s Grand Park is awesome and if you live in Korea, I HIGHLY recommend visiting it. It’s got a zoo, petting zoo, small amusement park, flower gardens, and lots of places to relax and have a picnic. And if you get bored with it, which I don’t understand how you could cause that place seriously rocks, the Seoul horse race tracks are one subway stop away.

7. We capped off our trip to the Children’s Park by taking a visit to “Chicken Street”… or so Snickers claims that’s the official name of the street… hahaha. It was like chicken heaven for me, the Chicken Killer… hahaha. We splurged, put our diets temporarily on the shelf, and indulged in some cheese tak galbi. Mind ya, with Snickers not having another game till July 27th, his game diet is on temporarily leave for a good month. This time last week he weighed-in at 63kgs, today he weighed-in at 70kgs... wow! He's still sporting his sick envious abs though, dang!

8. Upon arriving back in Cheonan I was feeling a bit too heavy and full from overdoing it with the cheese tak galbi and the ice cream and so we headed off to the boxing club together.

9. And while we were at boxing, Snickers’ friends were all busy phoning each other, talking about how Snickers has a foreign girlfriend… me… hahaha. I scored big points last night with our double date but tonight another couple came searching Snickers out with hopes of meeting me. They were successful. Mind ya, meeting anyone after two hours of hardcore training and dripping in sweat isn’t exactly the way I want to meet someone for the very first time. Regardless, they offered to drive me home and on the way they must have asked me a billion questions.

10. Snickers has to head out to Busan tomorrow for some testing. He had a heart problem some time ago and so he has to attend his annual follow-up meeting. Snickers claims he’ll be back on Thursday but I think he’ll be back Wednesday. That boy is hooked on me… as I am to him.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What's your favorite kind of place?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
You can fall in love at first sight with a place as with a person.
