As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Nothing quite says "I love you" or "happy birthday" like two massive hearts made out of 50 Coke-a-Cola bottles that's sure to send you on a sugar-high... hahaha. (Birthday card in the middle).

I took these pictures the next day but thought I'd add them with this post. I made this in the wee hours of the morning and had to work in the dark. It wasn't until the morning that I actually got to see what I had made. You should have seen Snickers' face when he woke up to this... hahaha!!!

Hey Amy,
That arrangement of the Coke bottles was really great. That was really sweet of you to do that and very artistic also. Snickers must have loved that. That’s great!
I laughed when you said you didn’t like shorts and that you didn’t have Korean-skinny legs. From what I say they are well proportioned and yeah I agree I wouldn’t want real skinny legs. When you go for your weigh in you make sure you show that girl your “guns” if you know what I mean. Heh heh. Go for the intimidation you know? I usually get to spar two times a week and luckily have Kim and Shawna to do it with and help me. I wanted to tell you that you are right about the name Kim being used a lot in Korea or with Korean girls because I knew a Kim in high school who was Korean. I forgot to mention that to you. I’ve been sparring a lot lately with Kim trying to even things up with her a bit. My lip is ok now. It happens right? I like that “swollen lip buddies” you mentioned. Hehheh.
I sparred Kim last night. She said I was a little tentative but it was because she was mixing up the punches a lot. She likes to throw “punches in bunches” as she puts it and when she does that they sting I wind up covering up a lot. I love to try and outsmart her and try and figure out how to improve. That’s the challenge of sparring I think. Not all people understand boxing but I think both of us do you know?
