1. Besides the 6am weight training, boxing and then evening training in the park, the only real thing on our schedule today were our plans to build Mi Nam an outdoor living corridors on the roof top patio.
2. Got the go ahead from our landlady to use any and all the spare doors in the top stairwell for Mi Nam’s place which was really cool of her. In my house I got Snickers to take off all but the front door and the bathroom door and so we had a lot of wood to work with.
3. Met the “Building Tool” and she lives right beside me, great. This marked our first meeting and it occurred today when Snickers and I were up on the roof top making a dog house for Mi Nam. She came up to see what all the sawing and hammering was about and then complained about Mi Nam possibly stinking up the place. “But this is the outdoors” I told her, “and my dog poops on his walks, not in his house” I added. Snickers jumped in and acted all cute in order to try to get her to agree with my point and so I walked out on them both. A “tool” like her is the last person I care to have agree with me actually. Great, I thought, she’s worried about my low maintenance, well-mannered dog and has totally disregarded the fact that it’s her dog that barks its’ head off at random hours. Snickers and I both agree that her annoying dog is destined to become a football but until then, we’re both stuck living beside the Building Tool and her should-be-a-football dog.
4. The other day K-Gere’s house got broken into and so I urged Snickers to go get his boxing champion belt and bring it over to my new house for safe keeping.
5. Still no sign of my gas range or sofa.
6. Had one of those “Holy-lost-in-translation” situations when Snickers stepped out of the house and texted me. Upon seeing the text, I ran to the window to watch him walk down the street and then remained there until he came back 10 minutes later. Turns out “ggum bang” means “jewelery shop” but it also means “in a moment”. I, pulling a total I-am-such-a-girl moment, thought his message read “I am going to the jewelery shop” because earlier on today we had started talking about money stuff and our future plans together. As it turned out however, his message meant “I will come back in a moment”. Snickers found great amusement in this mixed message situation but I kind of felt sick. I had sent my hopes on a quick rocket to the moon but they crashed. Dang.
7. I figure it’ll only be time before calling my new residence the “new place” or the “new home” won’t fit anymore and so today I tried to think of a cute new name that’s more appropriate. My old place was called Sambu but that was because that was the first part of the actual apartment building’s name. My parents’ house is labeled “Polish Paradise” and my old house in Toronto, Canada was called “Melrose Place” because of it’s striking similarities to the apartment complex off the show Melrose Place. It too had the enclosed middle patio area with it’s surrounding suites being occupied with successful young hotties, minus the Korean landlord that is.
8. Anyways, as for my new place, I thought of using part of my new street name but it translates to “Shinbu-Dong [part of city I live in] Post Office Street”, how blah is that?! So using the street name was a no-go, instead however, I came up with “Guum Ggum”. Not too sure if my English spelling is correct, kind of hard to switch it from Korean. Laugh as you may but “Guum Ggum” translates to “Gold Dream” and considering what this place means to Snickers and I and how it is just one of many major stepping stones we’re taking to pursue our future together, I think it’s pretty appropriate.
9. Tonight was the last official night for me as a resident at Sambu and so Snickers and I headed over there to do one last cleaning, hand over my keys and door combo code, and to finally move Mi Nam from Sambu to Guum Ggum.
10. Mi Nam wasn’t a big fan of his new roof top patio corridors but we all had expected that and so it was no surprise to listen to him whimper for a good ten minutes. Still not sure on what will become of Mi Nam’s living situation once the chilly weather approaches but I’m keeping my fingers crossed and am counting it a blessing that I’m even allowed to let him live on the roof top. Mind ya, I question how the heck the Building Tool and her should-be-a-football dog got in… hmmmm.

As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

I am so scare for Mi Nam and that building tool!...it sounds to me ,che is not so for Mi Nam! richt?
How is it posible ,che let him not living inside whit you!Che must see ,its your little baby .Its gone be hard now for him,to see you at nicht inside and he outside!Loosing the warmt of your home,he must felt abandon ,CHAME ON THAT BUILDING TOOL,dam her !
