As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Congrats Erik! You look awesome!!!

I'm my own trainer at the gym, thanks. Having said that though, I'd love to have a trainer come and kick my butt at weight training, God knows Junior Mint does it at boxing... literally too!

That was an old season. If you do an online search, you'll see that he gained all the weight back.

Hi Anonymous,
Ya, I know it was an old season. We've got season five playing on the tube now but I really got into season three because it was the first time I had watched it.
I goggled Erik online and you were right. That's terrible!!! Turns out he went on Oprah about it too. Did you happen to watch that episode?

I did, yes. He was mortified about gaining the weight back and said he didn't even realize it until over 100 pounds had come back. His wife was crying. He talked about struggling emotionally with weight and that he was going to try and lose it again. Not sure if he did or not.
