As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Sunday, October 18

1. Day two of Snickers working at the wedding hall today and I already can’t stand his job. It’s not what he’s doing for work that bothers me, instead, it’s the fact that he’s at the top of his game (boxing) and yet he continually doesn’t get the due credit. He’s been struggling lately because he has no sponsor and so it’s frustrating to me having to see this. I have two Korean friends who are professional athletes outside of the sport of boxing and they’ve landed wicked sponsors. Pro Star is a professional golfer whom I’m yet to even see on TV and yet he’s sponsored by Puma. Another one of his sponsors dished out $70,000 towards his imported new BMW, his BMW that they got to replace the old one he just got last year. And okay, good for Pro Star, I’m proud that he’s so successful with what he does and I’m glad that he’s tapped into some super sweet sponsors but I really wish the same could come true for Snickers, obviously.

2. The other day The Miracle Worker (my new much-loved hair designer) called to ask Snickers about my hair. Today he called again to remind me that he’ll be traveling to my home next weekend to do my hair again… sweet!

3. Did some downtown shopping with Kitty Cat and got to check out MAC Cosmetics. I’ve been anticipating the arrival of MAC’s new line, called DSquared2. I was particularly interested in snagging myself the new “DSquared2 Lip Erase” but was told that MAC’s new DSquared2 line wouldn’t reach international stores until November. Turns out they were wrong and, as luck would have it, turns out the new DSquared2 Lip Erase is sold out at the Galleria. Booo for that!!!

4. Instead of snagging myself the much anticipated for new MAC DSquared2 Lip Erase, I snagged myself some spicy sausages to add in the pizza I was planning to surprise Snickers with. Apparently I’m turning into quite the housewife and, quite frankly, it’s kind of freaking me out.

5. I made cow-zones, which is pretty much a folded pizza, but for it I had to steam broccoli, steam sweet potatoes, bake mushrooms, and then there was the joy of trying to make my own pasta sauce instead of using the one I bought today because I thought it’d make my pizza more delicious. And to think, when I lived in Toronto I use to pay a woman to cook for me.

6. Snickers and I headed out to the movies tonight and checked out the new Bruce Willis movie. I like Bruce Willis but he’s so type-casted.

7. This week it’s midterm exam week at Dankook, which meant I finally got a Sunday off of having to make a Power Point lecture file… sweet.

8. Called the Polish Paradise in Canada, the Polish Paradise as in being the residence of my parents. Mama Bere isn’t doing well, not well at all. She’s lost an insane amount of weight and is back in the hospital due to an unexpected surgery wound infection.

9. Papa Bere thinks it’s best I hold off on visiting Canada this Christmas on account that Mama Bere really needs her peace and quiet at the house. Holding off and waiting till next Summer to see my friends and family would mean it’d be two years since I saw them all.

10. It’s one thing that I don’t visit Canada often but it’s another thing being told that I can’t go. I understand Papa Bere’s reasoning and totally agree with him but by next summer I plan to be married and was really hoping he’d meet Snickers before that. My parents are going to adore Snickers, that I know of, but I always seem to jump the steps of things and so for once it’d be nice to follow the routine of things: meet the parents, have the wedding, and then be officially engaged. As it stands right now, it looks like we’ll be officially married, then we’ll meet the parents, and then we’ll have the wedding party.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Can you ever come back to a specific point?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.

Hi Ambearo,
Ya, they're called calzones but I started to call them cow-zones awhile back. I mispronounced the word wrong and my friends thought it was hilarious, so it just stuck.

Yo Marco,
Thanks dude! I love my new hair, too. He did an awesome job on it so I'll have to tell him you like it.

Hello Anonymous,
hahaha... good stuff. At least now I'm not the only one saying the word wrong... hahaha.

Hi Vbuuren,
Cowzones are actually calzones, and calzones are basically a pizza slice folded in half.
