As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Hi Amy,
Yeah, my cold is better and Kim’s ankle is better. We’re back sparring on a regular basis now. I definitely support you and I was reading a lot of your blog and don’t let anyone talk you out of pursuing your boxing. I know how much you put into it and you are not a quitter. I hope the problems arraigning the match in Japan are worked out for you. It must be a real pain.
I thought maybe that picture you had the student’s write something about came from the boxing match but wasn’t sure. Don’t let that get you down because boxing is a rough sport. I have a few pictures of me, I could show you after a couple of sparring sessions with Kim smiling but with a swollen lip and one holding a towel to my nose that her friend took. Not the kind I like to pose for. Heh heh. Her jabs are lethal for sure. It motivates me to do better. :)
The girl you fought. Was that after your bout? You should have or arrange a rematch with her. The Japanese girls are very tough and very good. How long did the match go by the way?
Just keep training Amy because I am inspired by your dedication.
