As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Thursday, November 26

1. Today marked the last day of weight training until after my upcoming fight. I love weight training and don’t even mind waking up at the crack of dawn for it, but it makes me slower in the ring. Moreover, with the weight requirement hovering over me 24-7, it’s much more productive for me to drop my weight training and substitute it with my running.

2. Snoozing between weight training and working was quite the harsh tease and I wanted nothing more to stay all curled up on my heated floor.

3. It’s official, my contract with Japan arrived in the mail, I signed it, got Junior Mint to sign it too, and then off I sent it back to Japan.

4. Got told to go running before I showed up for boxing which meant I had a 40 minute run before I then had about an hour of boxing. Needless to say, although I finished boxing at 9pm, I had already had a very exhausting day of training – weight training from 6 – 7:30am, running from 7:00 – 7:40pm, and boxing from 8 – 9pm.

5. Snickers doesn’t want to go to Japan with me on account that watching me fight makes him, and I quote, “feel crazy sick”. Apparently my promoter will be traveling with me to Japan, that’s cool.

6. Heard the funniest thing I've heard all week in my class today. This week in class we're talking about super hero powers. I told my students that I wish I had the power to freeze time. It'd allow me to sleep longer, train more, and have more time to just relax or meet with friends. Well, apparently one of my students wished he could "be a transgender". What he really meant was he wished he could change back and forth between the genders. He thought it was the perfect idea and noted that it'd mean he could become a girl on dates and make his date pick up the tab. "But that'd mean you'd be on a date with a guy" I noted. "Oh... I'm NOT gay!" he blurted out, and with that I laughed so hard. Moral of the story, be careful what you wish for... hahaha.

Although there's no such thing as the perfect man, I wished for a perfect-for-me man and boy did God ever hit the nail on the head with that wish of mine!!!

7. Had promised to take Snickers to go see that new movie starring the Korean singer Rain. I had even bought tickets earlier on in the day for them, too. So with limited time to scoot home from boxing, shower and get dolled up for the movie, I was so rushed for time, not to mention limited with my energy.

8. Must admit that Rain’s fighting scenes were impressive but he killed it when he opened his mouth to speak. And what was with the brutal parting of his hair in the middle?!

9. No sooner did the movie start but then it was lights out for me. I was exhausted from today’s training and Rain was really doing nothing for me but killing my time. Sleeping through the movie was definitely better than trying to watch it.

10. Just think, in two months from today I will be heading off to my honeymoon… how sweet is that?!

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What do you wish for?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Whatever you are be a good one.
