1. Changed my hair – yet again! Don’t get too attached to my new hair though cause it’s bound to change. In the last two months it’s gone from black to strawberry blonde, to medium brown, to platinum blonde, and now it is sandy brown. It’s the colour I initially headed out with hopes of getting.
2. I take it I have to be more specific next time as to what colour of sand exactly that it is I want cause although I didn’t want in-your-face blonde, on-the-verge-of-white hair, Hawaii is known for it’s white sand beaches. I guess the medium brown came from the dirty beaches of Daecheon (Korea), but I’m not too sure on what beach has strawberry blonde-like sand.
3. One of my friends who’s a highly regarded hair designer had told me she’d color my hair today but I ended up walking out on that appointment. Ever since she’s had a baby, her baby has taken first priority. She works only when people request appointments, meaning that she doesn’t keep her stock up. I got the feeling that she didn’t have the color I needed. I got this impression when she tried to convince me to go dark brown. I’m so over being this dark colour or that light colour. I just want to get back to my natural colour. So on that note, I made up an excuse, saying that I had to leave and I left.
4. I’ve never been a fan of LeeChard Hair, it’s like the McDonald's of hair shops to me, but I do remember a certain Japanese hair cut I scored there that still has yet to be topped. I knew I was desperate to change my hair when I found myself seriously considering revisiting this shop.
5. And despite all that went down the last time I was there, today was very different. Two hours, one hand massage, a cup of coffee, a cup of broccoli soup, a biscuit, and a lot of girl talk later, Operation Bye-Bye Blondie was a success. I had walked in a blonde and then left a sandy brown haired girl.
6. Thanks to Cat, I discovered the joy of “hand masks” by Skin Food. Watch out for yours coming in the mail Homegirl! You’re going to be hooked!!!
7. In mid afternoon, Snickers showed up and cooked that Russian crab that he had brought over yesterday. It had done a couple of laps around Ggum Guum and then earlier on today it died a slow death on the floor. I would have saved it and placed it in water had it not snapped at me earlier. I was too freaked out to pick the massive dead creature up. Snickers told me to pick it up when he was preparing to cook it. I knew it had been dead for a couple of hours but when I did motion to pick it up, Snickers grabbed my shoulders. I must have jumped a mile and down dropped the dead Russian crab, right on my feet… nasty! I felt like Macbeth, “Out damn spot, out!”, because I couldn’t seem to wash my feet enough. Crab was all I could smell for the rest of the day.
8. Ate crab for my first time and it was delish! God bless those Russians and their delish crab… hahaha.
9. After an hour or so of Snickers being at Ggum Guum, he finally clued in that I had changed my hair. He said I look pretty no matter what but noted that he liked the in-your-face blonde instead. My camera is acting up again and so I couldn't take a clear picture of my hair but I will. I'm definitely loving my new sandy brown hair. The blonde totally washed out my skin and was starting to make me look drained and pasty. Feels good to go back to the basics with my hair. No more high maintenance hair for me thanks.
10. On Christmas I ate fettuccine alfredo. I shot my mouth off when they served it with spaghetti noodles, so tonight we went grocery shopping yet again and now I am scheduled to cook fettuccine alfredo with proper noodles on New Year’s Eve for Snickers. I agreed to it on account that he’d at least make some kind of salad for the appetizer. Totally forgot that Home Plus sells prepackaged salads, so he totally got lucky with that… hahaha.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Did I just totally put my own foot in my mouth?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Men prefer blondes but gentlemen marry brunettes.

As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
