1. Ok, ok, so I’ve become delinquent with my homepage. Can’t say I’ve been bored lately though despite being on holidays, so keeping up with my homepage has become a chore. A chore I’ve obviously have put off. I doubt I’ll keep up with my daily postings though this year and instead am thinking that I’ll post 3-5 times a week. We’ll see what will become of it.
2. The other day I had Snickers sit down with me and write out new year’s resolutions.
Some of my New Year’s Resolutions:
1. Volunteer at least once a month.
2. Learn how to cook one new Korean dish a month.
3. Go running at least 3 times a week.
4. Create holiday traditions with Snickers.
5. Finish all levels of my Korean language study.
6. Teach Snickers English for at least 5 hours a week.
5. What’s a day out in the snow with out a snowball fight?! Exactly. I knew our snowball fight would end in someone getting hurt and given the odds against me, I foresaw it being me. I aimed myself with some snowballs but thought it more fun to attack him off guard and shove my snowballs down the back of his pants. He sought revenge and I ended up literally choking on snow. I must admit though, I played it up and so when he stopped to see if I was ok, I got him with a hand full of snow in the face.
6. Spent my afternoon trying to dethaw Snickers after I left him with quite the cold rear, so I cooked up two cups of my “Mocha Love” and we sat snuggled on the floor. Thought it’d be funny to have him do my listening and pronunciation exam from a couple of semesters ago. He failed miserably… hahaha.
Some of the short answer questions and his answers:
What is close to Coffee Bean?
“Nice clothes!” He mistook “close” for “clothes” and said “nice clothes” but I’m not sure as to what nice clothes have to do with Coffee Bean.
Is Cheonan a modern city or an old-fashion city?
“No” When I retold him the question, he then said “Cheonan is a good fashion city”.
7. Later in the evening one of Snickers’ friends, we’ve nicknamed him “Mouse Doctor”, called us up and asked us to go ice fishing with him. I told Snickers I’d go late night ice fishing if he got me a Coffee Bean coffee and a chicken wrap from the Galleria. I got my coffee and wrap and Snickers got us to go fishing.
8. We caught a lot of fish but given the actual size of the fish we caught, I’d have to say 10 of our fish equaled the size of a small sunfish. They were embarrassingly small. I would have laughed harder had my face not felt frozen in one expression… hahaha.
9. Someone had the “bright” idea to take a break from chilly late night fishing and cook ramiane in the back of the mini SUV we had came in. We all piled into the back and I thought it was cozy and nice until they pulled out a gas range and cranked on the burner. I knew it wouldn’t be long before the gas fumes would fill up the SUV and so I told them to open up a window. When “but it’s cold” was said to me I decided to get my butt out of the SUV. I could so see it filling up with fumes and then us exploding in it if one of them were to light a cigarette or us choking to death on the gas fumes. No thanks. I could careless if that labeled me the uncool one in the crowd cause I was more interested in being the alive one in the group.
10. Fishing pretty much was a bust on account that I was the only one who showed up prepared for the weather. Korea’s winter is definitely no Canadian winter but 20cm of snow had fallen today and I knew the late hours would be chilly. I showed up wearing three pairs of socks, my “second skin” bodysuit, a shirt, a sweater, a long Puma winter jacket, a winter hat, two pairs of gloves, winter boots, and a pair of leggings. By the end of our fishing trip I had given two pairs of my socks to Snickers and, had we stayed longer, I would have given my sweater and leggings to the Mouse Doctor and his girlfriend who looked half frozen to death.
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
Can you feel the chill of winter in your bones?
QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Winter either bites with its teeth or lashes with its tail.
