As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Wednesday, January 27

1. At 7am our wake-up call called me but with my gorgeous hubby and I all snuggled in our duvet blanket with the sound of the ocean waves in the background, I thanked them for the call but went back to sleep.
2. Cashing in on the resort’s breakfast buffet was another smart move on my part. It was held in a restaurant that was surrounded on two sides by a beautiful pond so this meant that not only did Snickers and I eat well but so did the fish… hahaha. With every other piece of food that Snickers’ put in his mouth he threw one piece to the fish.
3. No need for our early morning exercise considering we spent most of our day walking around and swimming. Our resort bordered the ocean and so there were plenty of resorts nearby that also lined the beach. We had hit the jackpot with our resort, for sure.

4. While out and about venturing around the beach, Snickers and I came across this abandoned piece of land at the end of the peninsula. It looked like some kind of park or something and so we went venturing into it. No one but two local boys fishing were there, mind ya, there were plenty of geckos!!! No sooner did I pose for a picture but then a massive iguana. We would have snapped a picture of it had it not totally taken us off guard and totally spooked us… hahaha.

5. Got mistaken for a celebrity and was asked to pose with a family for a photo. Definitely a funny moment.

6. We had only been in Bali for a day and already both Snickers and I scored serious tan lines. Actually, it was on the verge of a sunburn but I didn’t care. I was on my honeymoon and was having the time of my life with my best friend/ hubby.
7. Yikes!!! And to think I slaved like a madwoman weeks before my honeymoon to make sure I was bikini-body ready. Spending most of the afternoon at the pool was accompanied with me kicking my own butt with a bit of frustrations. I’m all for the notion that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and colours and I'm all for people enjoying themselves and life but dang! Damn!!! Both Snickers and I agreed that there should be some kind of age-appropriate, size limits and whatnot with some of the bathing suits that we noted were being sported in Bali. I saw what looked like someone’s grandmother in a thong bikini, a father wearing an over-sized leopard panty-like bathing suit that even his daughter looked afraid of it falling off him, and a whole lot of other “eye-burners” (the new term we made up) sporting things that the naked eye should be protected against.
Bali is spotted with numerous random temples because of their extreme devotion to their religion. You can find a temple just about any where and every where. Here is one temple we found in a deserted park.

8. Enough of watching the foreign freak show at the pool, to each their own but my eyes felt like they were burning and so Snickers and I headed to a local market for shopping. The locals were like vultures and so we kept up with our “Korean-only” rule when we were around them. We never did buy anything more than some snacks and groceries to bring back to our hotel.
9. Returned to our resort. The resort was loaded to the brim with Russians but I got a chance to practice my French and Japanese when we decided to go swimming again. I only know a bit of Japanese and I don’t remember all that I learned in French class but it scored us some so-called “resort friends” for the time being.

10. It was an obvious that Snickers and I were honeymooners and so we got plenty of envy looks and random words of congrats from resort staff and others who were vacationing at our resort. We decided to have a bit of a celebration for our new life together and so off we headed to a beautiful romantic restaurant at the resort. We had fish and steak for dinner but the best was the dessert. Our waiter presented us with an assortment of bananas all cooked differently. It looked beautiful but was also oh-so delish!!!
QUESTION OF THE DAY...
To each their own, right?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
Tough and funny and a little bit kind: that is as near to perfection as a human being can be.
