As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Highlights of my Day... Monday, February 8

1. Signed with a modeling agent here in Korea which is pretty cool, I guess. Not too sure if anything will become of it but it can’t hurt.

2. Agreed to a Wednesday 2pm interview for a part time job (6hrs a week).

3. Snickers’ and I are peeling like reptiles because of the insane amount of sun our skin soaked up. Today we had a little at-home spa party… party for two, reservation under the name “Kim”… hahaha. Facial masks were followed by facial massages and lotions. I even scored a back and shoulder massage. As for Snickers, he scored plenty of kisses, aka “tips” for the great massage.

4. Returned to boxing, UP Boxing Club, and was greeted by lots of smiles, comments and questions about my honeymoon and wedding. They were all shocked at how tanned I got.

5. Chats about my wedding and honeymoon were somewhat put on hold when no sooner had I arrived but Q arrived. It’s been months since I’ve seen Q and he stopped coming to boxing on account that he had to look after his father.

6. Seeing Q started off as a very uncomfortable situation and it was even more uncomfortable when I asked him how his father was. He told me that his father died on Christmas day. I had texted him on Christmas and he mentioned it to me, saying that he wanted to tell me about his father but I had texted him that it was a special day and he didn’t want to make my Christmas sad. I didn’t know what to say but sorry.

7. Not too sure if Q knows I just recently got married and had just returned from my honeymoon, I didn’t think it appropriate to talk about considering the news he had just dropped. We ended up chatting about Mi Nam, oddly enough. He's always been a big fan of my little man... to which Snickers would label this "bait"... hahaha.

8. With Snickers out in Suwon spending the night with his best bud, I was left home alone and bored out of my skull.

9. At exactly 1:24am I was still wide awake and still very much bored out of my skull. Late night running around the Dankook University lake path doesn’t quite compare to running on the beach in Bali but I guess it’ll have to do. Sure beats running and having those local sellers in Bali yell “One dollar, one dollar” at me as I run by though.

10. Arrived home, took Mi Nam out to play near the river and then came in to shower. No sooner had I finished my shower, dried off and left the bathroom to seek out my clothes but a voice spoke out, “Hi baby!” Instantly I backed up and slammed into the wall. I scrambled to cover myself with what few pieces of clothes I had in my hands and my eyes swelled up with tears. Turns out Snickers had returned home while I was in the shower and thought it funny to hide under my desk among all the cables and my office chair. I was spooked. I get spooked easily. Needless to say he felt terrible, especially after he emerged from his hiding spot, hugged me and noted I was still shaking.

QUESTION OF THE DAY...
What do you do to cure your boredom?

QUOTE OF THE DAY...
The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.
