Starting next week, I will be working at the Cheonan jail.
Yup, it’s true. I found this rather amusing. I couldn’t help but laugh when I got the call and was offered the position. I told them that I’d have to discuss it with my husband and call them tomorrow. I take it the lady offering me the position thought I was nervous because she was quick to tell me I’d be teaching the staff, not the inmates. When I filled Snickers in on the news, he laughed. “You’re going to work at my old house?” he asked. “Yup!”
Oddly enough , I am definitely looking forward to working at the Cheonan jail. It’s just recentantly turned into an all-foreigner inmate prison but I’m curious as to whether or not I’ll be teaching any of the staff Snickers knew. Because of the fact that at the Cheonan jail was where Snickers started officially boxing, he made quite a name for himself there and I’m curious as to whether or not his legacy there lives on. We shall soon see!!!
In addition to tutoring at the Cheonan jail, I also picked up another sweet gig today. Starting next week I’ll also be tutoring the vice president of Samsung in Cheonan.
I may never go back to a regular 9-5 job if this keeps up!
QUESTION OF THE DAY…
Do you do what you want to do or what you have to do?
QUOTE OF THE DAY…
Nothing is really work unless you would rather be doing something else.
-- James M. Barrie
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
