I've finally adjusted to the heat here in Korea after 7 weeks of being in Canada and leaving Canada when it's temperatures dipped to 8 degrees and left me loading up on sweaters. Mind ya, though I can stand the heat again running in it is another issue.
Today I did a timed run at 1pm, not the smartest of times.
After an afternoon nap, replenshing of liquids and stocking up on veggies and protein in my belly, I was then off to boxing. Snickers had sparring today -- totally envy him for that -- and I knew it'd be a hard sparring session with the Heavy Hitter cause he took a break for a bit from boxing to focus on other training. Lately he's been focusing on upping his leg strength, so biking and mountain hiking/running have been filling up his schedule.
The Heavy Hitter has a fight coming up on Saturday, October 8th and I would definitely not want to be his opponent. The Heavy Hitter has quite the knockout rate and despite him not training like a beast in comparision to Snickers or Black Skinny when they have fights, he packs a mean punch and is freakishly strong.
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
