As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Day At The Races... Saturday, September 18

Today we attended the Korean Mini Motor Race Championship in Paju -- northern South Korea.

I prefer my men half naked, pounding each other in the ring and sporting black eyes as opposed to dressed head-to-toe in leather with nothing but their eyes showing and sporting road rash. I have to admit, though sports racing isn't my sport of choice, it was pretty exciting and very interesting to watch today's scooter racing.

Spoted some really sweet looking scooters, potential new rides for me. Several of Snickers' boys are getting me a new ride, to replace Gotti who was stolen, and I've already got a name picked out for it.

I had gone there with Mouse Doctor and his new girlfriend (thankfully not Peg Legs but boo to it not being Cheeto Girl), 5-Star and his wife, and Snickers. It was like a triple date and I scored mad points with the guys for being way too into the races. The other two gals ditched us to go shopping which makes me question why they came (almost a 3hr drive) in the first place.

So I spent the day at the races, me and the three guys.

For every race, Snickers and I would pick out a favorite driver. He judged his pickings on the warm-up lap while I picked my on a combination of things -- how good-looking they were without their helmets on and what kind of scooter they were driving -- both of which I knew had nothing to do with the race itself. Turns out all the good-looking drivers are bad drivers... hahaha.

Other things going on today at the races included show bikes -- skilled scooter stunt drivers. They were pretty cool but you wouldn't catch me doing any of their tricks unless I could use my BMX, not a scooter.

And then there were the drag scooters... very, VERY cool. I loved this loud number!!!

At one point they called on audience participation, so Snickers and Mouse Doctor took a turn racing around the track on scooters... hahaha.

And then we were allowed to race around on their four-wheel carts. It was Snickers and I against Mouse Doctor in one cart and 5-Star in another. Mouse Doctor, the crazy Korean that he is behind the wheel, smoked us but we made a fool out of 5-Star, leaving him to choke in our exhaust... hahaha.
