As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

The Fabulocity of My Fabulous Girls-Only... Sunday, September 25

Got down and busy with editing and planning the homepage and upcoming event for my girls-only club. Am totally stoked about organizing this group. I think it's going to be great; it'll be as great and as fabulous as I want it to be and that's the truth. Already the list of my "fabulous girlfriends", both those on the Facebook page and the official club homepage, has reached over 100 and that's wicked!!!

I'm married to a beautiful man who is my best friend, so why the heck do I want to join yet another meat-market club where dropping the fact that I'm married -- happily married -- means be dropped off the "potential friends" list... exactly. That's the beauty of this girls-only club. I totally believe that guys and girls can be friends but I've gone there too many times and have been disappointed too many times too. I'm craving a group of gal buddies, you know, girlfriends I can just be a girl with, nothing more nothing less.

Club Profile

I love being a woman and I love being in Korea, but let’s face it, sometimes it’s hard to find irreplaceable fabulous girlfriends like those back home in this country – a country that is most likely a home away from home for most of you ladies. You know the kind, those fun-loving, adventurous and comfortable gals you can call up and do things with or doing nothing at all but still enjoy the time together.

Well, Seoul Girls Night Out is the perfect place to meet other fabulous ladies here in Korea. Group members range from newcomers to those born and raised in Korea, but all are equally fabulous. Regardless of what country you’re from, if you’re female and fabulous than this is the club for you!!!

Seoul Girls Night Out is a multicultural women's group intended to give a range of events and activities to do that go outside the typical thrill seeker or "pub crawl" type events that are oh so usual of meetups in Seoul. Typically, it’s much harder to develop more lasting friendships once you have graduated from college, started a career and have moved on to real life. Moreover, living in a foreign country where people are in constant rotation and everything is new, makes it all that significantly more difficult.

So why not come out and expand your social circle?

At least twice a month we’ll have club events, ranging from meals together, live music, live theater, spa days, game nights, and possible occasional road trips. The goal of our club is to give a potential for all involved to develop lasting friendships and to experience Korea beyond whatever it is you call work and whatever you think Korea is. Korea has the potential to be a fabulous country – it IS a fabulous country – and you are fabulous too, so why not share yourself with others and come help make this group something really, really great.

To be a part of this group you should be between the age 25-40ish, willing to cohost, contribute to or host group events (occasionally), able to attend at least 1 event per 1-2 months and SIMPLY FABULOUS!!!

Today I narrowed down my search and selected a restuarant to host my first meetup and it's stunning so I edited the details to my first planned event. I'm already in the process of planning something for Halloween and am hoping to introduce my boxercise class but may hold off to November to do so.
