My new BFF...?! What?
I joked with my friends in Canada this past summer, telling them that I needed them to let me in on the inside scoop with new English slang. One of my cousins filled me in on BFF but it sounds to valley girl for me... "valley girl", do people still use this term?
Anyways...
So ya, apparently my new BFF is chicken stirfry, sorry curry, you are so yesterday... but I still love ya and am sure to slap you down on my plate again this week;)
Snickers -- a guy who pretty much eats anything and everything and in such massive one-dose quantities -- is a very picky eater when it comes to eating anything I cook. He won't even so much eat my jello, a no-cook snack that I love to throw fruit cocktail in. And who doesn't love jello?! Apparently I married the only person to give a big two thumbs down to jello. And my oatmeal-packed banana pancake -- a breakfast for champions that has turned even the biggest of skeptics into hardcore addicted fans -- nope, he doesn't like it.
I just don't understand it. He likes rammian -- a fried noodle drowned in a spicy water broth that leaves him with tummy pains and threatens to leave him on the throne for hours -- yet my cooking (my very clean-eating cooking) doesn't even get the chance to graze his lips.
But, and here's where this story takes a turn, he likes my chicken stirfry! Yup, it's true. Hell has frozen over and we have a winner. My chicken stirfry with brocolli, mushrooms, peppers and slash of a secret sauce I picked up in Canada scored a big smile from Snickers, meaning they've beat out all other dishes I've ever tried to please Snickers' tummy with.
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
