Let’s face it, we’ve all been touched by cancer. Whether it’s been the loss of a loved one, good friend, co-worker, or the lady who lives down the street, cancer has touched us all.
For the past two years my mother battled cancer and this past summer I traveled to Canada knowing full well that I’d be planning her funeral and laying her to rest. Her days of fighting cancer were coming to an end and I was there to hold her hand until the end. I saw how it torn my father’s heart to pieces, how it seemed to drag my whole family continually through Hell and back, and I promised myself that I would no longer play the ignorant role anymore. I was going to be proactive.
Cancer sucks, yes that’s true, but there IS something you can do.
Dillinger's Bar 3rd floor, Itaewon, Seoul will be the place to be on Saturday, October 22nd @9pm.
Come out to Bras For A Cause in Itaewon, Seoul where we’ll be having a laugh at cancer instead of a sour cry. It’ll be an amazing night of music, stunning belly dancing and burlesque dancing, a dash of comedy, and they’ll be showcasing an auctioning off of hand decorated bras in support of the Korea Breast Cancer Foundation.
The Korean Breast Cancer Foundation provides care for breast cancer patients of low income families and has supported 80 households with surgery and day-to-day care… and let me tell you, that’s an awesome, awesome financial burden they’ve taken off the shoulders of these 80 households because it is expensive!!! It’s my wish that you will never fully understand just how much organizations like the Korean Breast Cancer Foundation really mean to both the victims and survivors of cancer.
The event focuses on breast cancer in particular, a cancer that all of us ladies should be concerned about. A simple 5,000won cover charge will get you a pink ribbon donated by the KBCF, an evening of fabulous entertainment, and will help to support the Korean Breast Cancer Foundation and all the awesomeness it does with helping other ladies just like you and me who really need it.
Let’s ban together and help our fellow ladies here in Korea by showing up in support, it’s the least we can do.
