As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Butt-Kicking Gals... Sunday, October 16

Had a wickedly fun, wickedly entertaining, and wickedly sweaty boxercise class with a small group of fabulously fun ladies!!! Mind ya, I should admit though that at first I was definitely having major second thoughts about the class and contemplating canceling it today when I woke up. I had had a restless night, with my cell phone buzzing like mad across the floor. It seemed like every hour on the hour in the wee hours I was recieving text messages from people dropping off the guestlist like flies.

But, staying true to my focus and intentions, I headed out the door to see who in fact would turn up for my boxercise class. Only three people arrived. It was rather discouraging but then I remembered the mantra Snickers seemingly lives his life by and is always quoting -- "Do it because you love it -- just enjoy!"

So we geared up at the boxing club and I turned up the tunes, preparing myself to really rock the sitatuion and then I allowed myself to really have fun with it.

We practiced a lot of jab throwing, weaving, cross jabbing, combo punches, and we even did the unexpected... we learned the hook. Snickers had joked with me yesterday, telling me "Don't make it too hard. Don't teach them the hook" but I wanted my class to be challenging so I threw in the hook. Honestly, I was really, really impressed with not only the effort but the skills they all eagerly picked up and showed me today. I felt really proud to hosting the class and they all worked their butts off for me.

I'm totally pumped to train with them again!!!

After the boxercise class, we went downtown for lunch together. I was still very much on a high from the success of the class and from all their positive feedback. Here's some of the things they posted about my class online:

"It was great. Amy is a fabulous teacher."

"This class was SO much fun!!! Not only did I meet up and hang out with awesome ladies this past Sunday, I also got my butt kicked by Amy! She is an awesome teacher with tons of expertise pertaining to boxing and exercise. I can't wait for the next class!!! :)"

"It was real fun, and a real work-out, too! The host [Amy] did solid preparation and it paid off."

Hi Jaclyna,
Actually my boxercise class is held at my boxing club here in Cheonan, about an hour away from Seoul. And yes, it definitely was awesome and a ton, ton, TON of fun!!!
