I've got Madonna's "Give It To Me" song repeating over and over... and over... in my head today though I must say I'm partly to blame. I accidently erased all my tracks on my iPod, all but this one particular song that is. So when I headed out for a nice 9km run today I must have listened to this song about a hundred and one times. What was funny about it all was that I found myself commenting at the end of each line and now I think I like that song much more than when I first stepped out today.
"Give It To Me" -- by Madonna, with line comments by me.
What are you waiting for? ...I guess no one now!
Nobody's gonna show you how …exactly, but it’s a lot of work figuring out how to do it
Why work for someone else …my point exactly!!!
To do what you can do right now? ...to do what I love that is, fitness and teaching.
Got no boundaries and no limits …and am loving it.
If there's excitement, put me in it …oh, I’m in it!
If it's against the law, arrest me …no worries there, hello F2 visa baby;)
If you can handle it, undress me …(only for weigh-ins thanks)
Don't stop me now, don't need to catch my breath …I’ve got plenty of endurance thanks.
I can go on and on and on …so stacking up the classes is ok with me!
When the lights go down and there's no one left
I can go on and on and on …and I DO go on and on. I'm a machine... hahaha.
Give it to me, yeah …yeah, yeah!
No one's gonna show me how …but thanks to those who’ve been very supportive!!!
Give it to me, yeah
No one's gonna stop me now …goodbye employers, goodbye books, goodbye mini Korean students with their’ “me-no-English” looks.
They say that a good thing never lasts …you got to have the sweet with the sour, right?
And then it has to fall …whatever doesn’t break me makes me stronger.
Those are the people that did not
Amount to much at all …yup. and I definitely don’t want to join their club, Club Regret.
Give me the bass line and I'll shake it …and add in a 1-2 hook, hahaha.
Give me a record and I'll break it …with my fist!
There's no beginning and no ending …only a very cool non-ending journey, that’s life.
Give me a chance to go and I'll take it …and I AM taking it!!!
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
