As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Mama Gonna Knock You Out... Wednesday, October 19

Mi Nam's job is keeping me company when I'm slaving away at my computer and being my little attached-at-the-ankle cuddle buddy but Pyen Chi is my running buddy, or so I informed her today of that being her job.

With Pyen Chi being from Tibet and apparently a dog that would tend to herding the sheep and living on a mountain, I thought it only fitting that I'd make her my new running buddy. She's only 8 months old now but I thought I'd teach young how to run beside me.

Today Pyen Chi ran 7km with me, well... almost 7km.

At about the 6.999991km mark she stopped. She stopped, sat down and refused to get up. When she finally did, she just stood there... than sat down again. It was her first real long run but it was a good one... a great one. I think she even scored a favorite among the boys team at Dankook that had joined us along the lake path. He watched as we ran by and then he ran up to us, joining us for a little bit. At first glance he looked like a spinning image of Snickers, maybe that's why Pyen Chi insisted on running up to him a nipping him.

Nice, Pyen Chi nipped him on the butt and what did he do but look back at me, like I had done it... hahaha. I think Korean men are gorgeous but I've got my own gorgeous Korean man at home who was sitting practically buck naked waiting for me to return home.

Anyways, so Pyen Chi introduced herself to the boys running the path and then she continued on with me. She almost made the 7km run and I was definitely proud of her effort cause she only walked a few parts of the route and I really wasn't expecting her to run as good as she had.

Pyen Chi slept the rest of the day, needless to say, but then she joined Snickers for a two hour mountain hike in the late evening with Old Rock, Mouse Doctor and little Dong Gae. Snickers and I had a good laugh, thinking about how Pyen Chi's now taken on a kind of training routine. Every other day she'll be running with me and then she'll be joining Snickers for training on the mountain.

Snickers has his training routine -- mountain trekking, natural weight training and boxing
I have my training routine -- weight training, running and boxing
and now Pyen Chi has a training routine -- mountain trekking and running

This leaves Mi Nam with no routine except for being the four-legged ultra cut cheerleader that he is. I'd love for him to join me outside for a light jog but with his hip displacia he's under doctor's orders to refrain from excessive physical play. His condition is under control but I don't want something to trigger a relapse so for now he's our adorable cheerleader.
