Checked out Cheonan’s Dance Festival for the second time this week but this time we didn’t solely go there for the wickedly delish food… though we did indulge in some ;)
From what Snickers tells me, apparently this particular festival is one of Korea’s top three biggest festivals which is pretty cool because Cheonan is considered rather country. The festival ran for most of the week with today being the day it wraps up supposedly and it drew a lot of international hype and international visitors. I spotted numerous dance groups from visiting countries. Snickers spotted one dancer wearing a shirt that red “Polska” across the front of it in big red letters so he convinced me to say something in Polish to the guy. When the guy didn’t respond to my Polish, Snickers blurted out the only Polish word he could remember my mother teaching him.
The guy responded. He said “hello” and winked.
“Do you know what you just said?” I asked him.
“Yes, good morning.”
“No, you just called him beautiful… hahaha.”
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
