Tomorrow's my meeting with Adidas. I'm pretty optimistic about it and am excited. Adidas has always been very supportive of me and my boxing. The ladies who joined me for my first official private group boxercise class last week have continued to be very supportive of me.
Since last Sunday, I've done what feels like a month's worth of work in only a few days. I've made the official launch of my company's homepage, set up a Facebook page, and held several meetings with my coach, building manager and so on.
Today I meet with Kitty Cat. We sipped on coffee in the warm window of Coffee Bean and chatted about this and that. She ended up throwing me some pretty awesome ideas to digest, consider and pursue -- am stoked about that.
Am thinking about approaching the major shopping mall downtown Cheonan here about hosting a boxercise class in their facilities. They've got a designated floor that offers group classes for a variety things -- cooking, fitness, etc. If I were to land a spot there it'd mean things for me could really take off. Before I do so though, I'd really like to see where I could take it at my boxing club. It's a win-win situation for both myself and my coach if I host it there and considering all that he's already done for me and the various roles he's played in my life, I really want to center this at UP.
I've been really thankful and appreciative for all the support -- all the various forms of support -- that I've recieved but in trying to juggle my new company, my all-girls club, and being the main breadwinner at my house, it's a lot for me to handle. I'm ok with not raking in cash, cash has never been my motivation for anything. I'm more about being able to do what I love. And I love doing what I am doing right now.
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
