As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Hi Amy,
That looks like a good group of women that joined your club. That is so great and a great idea that you started it. It’s too bad I didn’t live where you are because it would be great if Shauna and I could train at your gym. I’ll send the link to our sparring sessions on your email address rather than put it up here if that’s ok. I hope I send them to the right address because in the past I sent you a few things and maybe you never got them? Not sure.
Shauna is going to add the sparring we had tonight to the clip. Her cousin Rebecca has taken some of the video of sessions. I’m going to spar with her in one of the upcoming sessions and that should be good. She works out at this other gym and she is good. She is only 20 so I’m not sure if my experience so to speak will hurt or help me. It’ll be good to box another girl to see how I do.
Unfortunately, I didn’t do that well against Shauna tonight. She mixed up a lot of body to head combinations and vice versa and I felt slow from the onset. Tell your students not to worry about stumbling with their footwork because it’s hard to coordinate all the aspects of boxing at once. I get mad at myself a lot when I get hit with the jabs I should see coming. It’s part of learning the game I would say. No big deal right? Shauna is very fast.
