As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Love from Canada... Thursday, February 16

Recieved a package from a friend in Canada -- a highschool friend. I had mentioned to her that I needed more of that delish chicken spice combo that I've become addicted to... hahaha. I had originally bought the spice combo two summers ago while visiting my family in Canada but it wasn't until late last year that I discovered it sitting at the back of my kitchen cupboard. So in the package sent to me was this particular spice combo, 4 bottles of it actually! And beside the bottles of spices were flavored Splenda packs and two Canadian winter toques. Snickers is all about couple wear, he's certainly Korean like that, so he loves the toques and insisted me to wear them this afternoon while IN the house.

Yesterday's surprise visit from Satoshi and today's arrival of this package from my friend were definitely energy boosters for me. I've been so preoccupied with my boxing lately, it's been so in my face, so it's great to be reminded of friends and life outside of the boxing club.

Next week my friend Nick is coming to Korea. He's backpacking around Asia right now and will be stopping in at our place here in Korea for about a week or two. Am definitely looking forward to seeing him though trying to make a list of what to show him and do with him seems to be harder of a task than originally anticipated. I want him to see Korea, not the Korea that tourists see but the real Korea, and in trying to make up a list I've come up with mainly foods for him to try. Any suggestions?!

Mountain hiking (anywhere!) or the historical places all around 안동 (there are a lot!). 이천 is known for pottery, but I haven't been there. See if there are any festivals going on during the weekends. 노래방 ^^ um...yeah, usually all I can think about showing people is food. Play/attempt to play 족구, there are lots of places to do that. I'm not sure how far you want to travel; I've mostly been East and some places south. So glad you got a much needed pick-me-up. Good luck Sunday! I plan on going.
