First day of work at a new job I picked up, a new job I'm juggling with the others that is.
I'm teaching at a university out in Suwon -- no office hours, only 6 classes. It's a 12hr work week.
So what should my first day consist of but scoring a free coffee from a guy who reconized me from TV, getting word that one of my classes has been canceled, scoring two days off a week instead of the expect one, and then, if all that wasn't great enough, I scored a free lunch out and Snickers showed up with both Pyen Chi and Balboa to pick me up!!! They came all the way to Suwon to surprise me, how awesome is that?!
Talk about a sweet first day!
There was a bit of sourness in my sweet first day though -- a coworker who teased me about having fur on my coat to which I suggest he get a mouthguard (because I'll punch him if he keeps it up). For the most part my coworkers are pretty cool. I've stuck with chatting it up with a select group of them. There's already three ladies I really click with and a couple of the guys I really enjoy chatting with.
As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).
After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.
Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.
