As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

No Lions, No Tigers but Bears OH MY!... Saturday, March 3

Snickers absolutely loves having Big Foot join us here at Ggum Guum and planning daily mini adventures for us all to enjoy so today we went on yet another mini adventure. It’s been a lot of fun picking places where to take him and whatnot. It’s like we’re getting to discover Korea all over again but through the eyes of someone else.

Today We took him to one of my favorite hotspots in Korea – Bear Tree. It’s a mansion that’s been turned into a bear zoo and botanical garden. The botanical garden, with exception of the greenhouses, isn’t much of a sightseer right now because of the season but the bears were definitely up and about today. Big Foot got to see the Korean Moon Bear and he had fun reaching over the pens to touch the little cubs. I learned my lesson last time to not underestimate a cub as being small and weak. Those little ones at even just one month old have a harsh bite to them!!!

In one of the green houses Snickers had convinced himself that he was going to snatch a fruit from one of the trees and leave it to him to get Big Foot in on the scheme. I was against them doing so but told them that if I did it when I wasn’t around I couldn’t stop them. I know, I know, I shouldn’t encourage them but it was just one fruit – one fruit practically the size of my head that is… hahaha. So ya, they stole a fruit and as karma would have it it was super sour when they tried to eat it later on back at Ggum Guum… hahaha.
